[NE-21194400] Error

GTS servers are just as crap as AT&T U-Verse...... ITS about to be 2018 and you two cant do anything right to keep things running smooth.... What happen to people taking pride in their work? Not just go in to collect a pay check... Smh..Pathetic ****!!!!!

I was able to connect after I kept trying over and over to reconnect to the server. Eventually, I was lucky enough to reconnect after a few attempts.

Same for me, still down. North West Germany. Error code [NE-21194400]. Really annoying.

Anybody have an idea what the infrastructure behind GTS looks like? I don't have much insight, but Sony's own stuff seems to be up. Could update PS4 to 5.03, the store and PSPlus front loads etc. But the GTS bits are most certainly not running as intended.

From DNS logs, only thing I can find adhoc is two servers that look GTS related:

* gt7sp.ps4.online.gran-turismo.com
* gtsport.api.wwsga.me

First one currently resolves to gt7sp-ps4-online-1462309357.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com.
Second one to gtsport.api.wwsga.me. Neither are pingable. Traceroutes stop along the way.

Does not look good but might also not mean much. Unfortunately some IT sec 'pros' think ICMP is dangerous... But nevertheless, Sony's PS4 stuff looks operational and there's no outage warnings for AWS. So most likely something is broken application side on Polyphony's end (or whoever is in charge for their backend ops).

Grml...

This error has occurred twice before.

The first was during the closed Beta expansion stage in April. The second was when the Asian version of the game launched on 19th October. It suggests that this error means the servers have fallen over due to load.
Traffic would stand to reason.

I was in-game fine, using all modes without issue.
I quit the game to test and now cannot reconnect.

Saying that, I could understand excess traffic in a days time, but why this particular Saturday night is so different to the others just passed is a mystery.

Anyway, I'm taking the opportunity to test the "offline play, put console in Rest mode, keep progress gained when back online" thingy.
Clouds and silver linings etc.

Oh well, this made my plans for tonight a bit easier. Was torn between playing GTsport or trying out Assetto Corsa's new update. Looks like it's Laguna Seca in a Maserati Quattroporte for me then.

My guess would be early Xmas gifts since I'm guessing people started the holiday festivities today. Couple that with the discount on the PS Store that's certainly enticing more people to buy the game and fire it up.

Good call with the 12 days of Christmas discount.
I hadn't considered that.

That's going to be a nice X-Mas / initial user experience for all those firing up their present today. Wide eyes, eager to play... And then... Network error... Nevermind all the poor dads running around the home, checking routers and connectivity, trying to fix stuff on their end -- which is cleary is not the problem here.

IMVHO unplanned outages of this scale and duration are not acceptable for a paid service.
