How? You would need Top Secret front & rear bumpers, aero bonnet and side skirts to get close to identical to the picture.
I would imagine he's confusing the two. The Top Secret kits don't look dramatically different, so I would just assume that would be it.

Sorry, thought the Z-Tune bumper looked similar. I had Z-Tune front bumper and sideskirts, V-Spec II rear bumper and V-Spec II hood. Car was also lowered.

Which starter car will you guys pick when the game comes out? I'm sick of seeing the BRZ so it's either the Civic or the Mustang, and RWD V8 vs FWD 4cyl should be an easy choice ;)

Of those choices I would go with the Fox body, but I would think, and hope, that the 180SX will be available as a starter car and go with that.

Yeah I was hoping that too but Ben said there's only 3 so it's probably the same list from the beta. Civic is cool and the BRZ has the most visual options but choosing between 2 4cyl and a v8?, I'll have the v8 thanks ;)

Hopefully the starting cars would not be restricted to just the BRZ or the Mustang. I would gladly take the 180SX, if allowed or if I have the cash for it.

In the beta, did you guys have to start in an intro race like every other racing game where you'll have to choose a car, and that would be your starter?

You drive the Fox Body Mustang around the city briefly and then you choose your starter car afterwards.

And doesn't he say you can test the cars before you pick? I know you couldn't in the beta but I thought he said you could so maybe we can in the final version

I was wondering what car will everyone be saving up for straight away after they picked their first car?

Mine would be the Porsche (991) GT3 RS.

Starter will probably be the BRZ, something to beat the snot out of for a while and keep the rubber-banding A.I. in-check. (Anyone remember having to downgrade a car in UG1 to prevent the insane-speed RX7 ?)

After that I don't know, Volvo is intriguing, might slap together a 180sx for drifting, who knows ?

Good question. I don't really remember what was said in that cutscene before they let you pick your car, to be honest.

My strategy is to save up for the least expensive cars I want first then work on getting the more expensive ones. So the first car I buy myself will be the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG.

I just watched it again and he says "take them out for a shakedown and maybe one of these mongrels will take a shine to you" but you only get the option to buy them rather than testing first. Would be helpful if we can actually try them out first.

Since cars don't appear to be too expensive, I think it'd be better if we were just given the money and let loose. Or is there any reason to be limited to just those 3 cars?

Yeah, here have 200 grand, buy a lamborghini and go beat up on some volvos. No.

I expect payouts to be drastically different in the early game. Hopefully a 9,000 max payout at around 90% game completion. They said we need to earn our stripes, make us.

Of course they're not going to give you enough money to buy a Lamborghini right from the start. :dunce:

I meant enough to buy the most expensive 'starter' car, but no more. That way, you can have a Volvo, a S13 or whatever car you want, instead of being limited to just 3.

Since I wasn't in the beta, could someone tell me if the Supra has an Abflug body kit?

Because it would be awesome to have a supra like this.

Well, this is hard, never planned on getting the exotics. After the starter car (Fox Body), i'd probably go for Boss 302, R32 GTR or Ford Focus RS, not in specific order but i know for sure those 3 will be in my garage. Also i probably keep the Fox Body too so i don't know what will i get for the final slot. This final slot might be the only slot that's going to change a lot lol

Maybe they're locked ? I could have sworn i saw a widebody R32 GTR in one of the gameplay videos.

Doesn't matter though, i will only change the rims if i get the R32 in game.

Yep, like this one, coincidentally belongs to a Zen Garage owner, one of the consultants of the game, you can find the Zen garage decals and windshield banner in the game

Unfortunately, there was nothing from Abflug for it. It had Jun body parts though.

I only got it tuned to around 400 hp but its reasonably quick at over 160mph however, it only revs to about 5k so it's not the most responsive even when I put the supercharger on it. Wasn't really satisfied on the standard handling as it wasn't that keen on drifting. I made a setup about halfway between full drift and the standard handling and felt more comfortable with it.

Just my 2 cents as I just personally preferred the Fox Body to the standard JDM staples.

Could it go further, cause even though it's a style I dislike in real life I find it great and refreshing to see it in a game. So I feel I can have fun with it, if it's actually able to produce the kind of figure most people get when tuning them which is much more north of 400. If not I'm sure it could be used for something else.

I got low on budget by the time I got 400 hp out of it so I feel it can go further.
