True, but NFS is different.
Burnout - slide and crash cars going 200 mph. I wouldn't bother using a manual.
NFS - street racing with in depth customization. We can modify the car's tranny but can't choose when it shifts. Lol.
Yeah, but look who ghosts games is mainly comprised of, the people who made Burnout, and as far as I can tell, the physics are more towards the Burnout side of things, than the ricer ground physics.

More towards the Burnout side, yes, but not this kind of crazy:

(At least I hope. lol)

The last great Burnout game they made for me is Burnout Revenge. It has all the things I want. 3 simple car classes (ST, DX, and GT), simple UI, traffic checking, and non slidey physics.

But enough with this Burnout talk, on topic I hope the Photomode won't look like the one in Undercover. The photomode there was bad.

Finally, they listen to their fans! Too bad there's still no manual transmission :banghead: or maybe we have to wait for the next update because the "Showcase" update is mainly on showcasing your car.

I'm pretty disappointed with the update to be honest. Not a new car to be seen, no single player mode extensions, no garage slot extension from the miserly 5 spots it gives you.

Great, they've given us more customisation options but since I only have 5 spots in my garage which are taken by the cars I want, I wont see the benefits of the new bits and bobs they're giving us. Not like they'll make much of a difference anyway, the customisation options are shocking compared to the 10+ years old NFS Underground.

How about instead of a pointless petrol/gas station that fixes purely cosmetic damage, give us a new damn garage to store cars! If people don't like their cars getting banged up, give them the option to turn damage off.

Photomode, wrap sharing and licence plates? Really? Try adding content into a really sparse game first please, where's the drag racing? where's the new single player content?

This "living game" bollocks is starting to do my head in. The fact is you're paying £45 to become an unwitting beta tester and you'll get the game you were promised and paid for in about years time (maybe).

It's the same with EA's Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, it's just this month through (so called) free DLC that the new game has caught up to previous Tiger Woods game with regards to number of courses. However it's still missing a multitude of features, it has a career mode that TW 2003 puts to shame ffs.

Living game = unfinished game.

New update..hummm.. and where is the Manual Transmission? Is a RACING GAME. Manual Transmission is Obviusly Necessary!

I understand they don't want to force manual on everyone but not even having it as an option is complete bollocks.

I decided to buy a Mustang Boss 302 the other day because I hadn't touched an American car in a while. Just my luck that there's new parts for it. I wonder what they are...

I'm starting to think this "no manual transmission" excuse for being a bad game is becoming annoying plus its just another excuse for saying "this game sucks.".

I get that manual transmission is important for a racing game but when a racing game doesn't have manual, does it stop anyone from playing the game? What about Burnout? Even Takedown:3, Revenge and Dominator without its slidey physics and no manual didn't stop anyone from playing.

Sorry for the lengthy rant but I still think this "no manual transmission excuse for being a bad game" is becoming annoying.

All of the big things that people are complaining about will take longer to add to the game than just a few months. New cars, new game modes, manual transmission, all of these will take a long time to implement if they want to do them properly.

New cars need the following each:
New vehicle geometry
UVing the model
Texturing
Setting up the vehicle for attaching mods
Damage model
Handling model
Setting up vinyls/decals system with materials
New audio
VFX (flame emitters etc.)
Lights
Multiple mods modelled and textured
Mods checked for fit
Testing and appropriate changes
Balancing
Ensuring vehicles are compliant, have licenses for each country, have licenses to cover SCEE and SCEA

5 more garage slots would need the following if they wanted to do it thoroughly:
New garage space modelling OR a way of making the current one work (given the lack of 3D space this is unlikely)
Implementing into the HUD
Coding the new garage slots to correspond with the car list
Figuring out a way to organise cars
If a separate garage, adding icons to the phone and the map
Localisation for new garage if required
Testing and appropriate changes
Ensuring the new content is compliant due to it being a big part of the game

Manual transmission:
Re-code all of the vehicle setups to work with manual transmission (different per car, that's a LOT of work!)
Ensure the controls react accordingly in varying controller setups
Testing and appropriate changes
Ensuring the new controls are compliant as they affect actual gameplay

I agree that they should have been in there from the start but just because they haven't already developed the game twice over it doesn't mean they're not working on them behind the scenes.

The lack of manual transmission is just one of the things preventing me from buying this game when it comes to PC. There's still the always online requirement, 30FPS lock, weird physics, pathetic police chases, five car garage limit and more things that need to be addressed before I'm interested in this game.

I agree on that. It seems that the hate that this game get is from those impatient gamers or *insert game here" fanboys.

I still don't get it why this game is hated much, people wanted customization so Ghost gave us customization and still, people complain.

Probably similar to GTAV's PC release, it will have some exclusive content that will soon appear as a update for console versions.

The game is far from complete and I do agree with people that it needs more work doing on it before they should really consider it the full game but I only paid about £20 for it. The first thing they should be looking at is the appalling game breaking bugs that ruin races (cars appearing out of thin air, weird collisions, crap AI etc.)

To be honest, I want a manual transmission just so people will find something else to complain about.
Don't you worry, there's a very long list to pick from.

It is certainly one reason as to why I've yet to actually purchase the game. When I'm buying a game that is at least based around some realism, I'd like to at least have the option to be able to select what transmission I'll be using. Your complaining about people complaining is annoying as well.

It's not an excuse for "why the game sucks" but it is definitely something that is bothering a lot of people. The good thing is that it looks like they're actually implementing things that should have been in the game in the first place. The introduction of the photomode is something I'm definitely happy about, and that simple mode alone is likely enough to get me to actually purchasing the game. See how easy one can have a change of heart, if things as simple as this are implemented?

That's a very illogical statement. It's impatient to want basic features in a racing game? I'm considered a fanboy because I don't like certain design choices? Tell me, what am I a fanboy of exactly? The game is irrelevant, because if any game made these same choices, I'd be vocal about it as well.

Either way, they're obviously taking things into consideration with these game updates. I'll likely pick this up, given the current roll out of updates.

Shouldn't new customization parts for the BRZ equal new customization parts for the FR-S and 86 as well since those those share the same customization parts and all?

That's what I thought. Even then, it's not like the trio were lacking in visual mods to begin with. I do hope the new mods for the BRZ are to do with lights, I would love something like the Valenti tail lights:

......You've got a point!

Those are beautiful

I keep seeing people complain about always online. Through the settings menu there is a way to play by yourself, offline.

You still need an internet connection to access that function of the game, that's where the complaints come from.

But you still need a solid internet connection to play. If you lose connection for even a second you get booted right back to the main menu. I've nearly completed the game and, aside from the "snapshots", I really don't see a reason for it

That's because there is no reason other than DRM. The game, besides the DRM, could easily run entirely offline if they wanted it to. It would mean a fair amount of work at this stage but they have the ability to do it and they should have made it an offline game with online features right from the start.

I'm lucky that I have a very good internet connection with high speeds and rarely any drop outs but some friends of mine have struggled with the game due to their connections. EA seem to forget that not everyone has access to high speed internet. My old house was 1.5mb/s and often had such high ping that you couldn't play any games at all. Hell, my Xbox One used to refuse to update because of the lack of speeds so I had to take it in to work to update it. I know there are plenty of people in the UK who are in a similar situation to me and they won't be able to play the game. They obviously didn't learn from their mistakes with Sim City.

Too bad I can't get to that menu because I can't connect to the EA servers and haven't been able to play yet this month.

Here's my question, with the Benny Update for GTAV, does the car customization of GTAV can compete against NFS2015's car customization?
