Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2005) Who Still Plays?

I don't know my easiest, but as for the hardest, I always thought Earl was the hardest. For at least 9 years or so, I have always believed that the entire game picked up in terms of performance and he apparently had those parts on his car. Which makes him much harder than most combined with the long track you race him on. I think it's time I finally figure out if my theory is true or not.

Razor still packs a challenge, but I never thought he was as bad Earl. When I was 13 and I challenged him, I was literally stressed racing him because of what my cousin told me.
I really hated him from the day he took the BMW. He never deserved to drive the M3.

I think that's what they wanted you to feel, I don't think razor was meant to be a likable character from the start anyways.

I was thinking earlier about how awesome it would be to get his Mustang and challenge him with it. Seems pretty fair. He took my BMW, so I took his Mustang! :mischievous:

Speaking of which, I always wondered what happened to Razor's Mustang. It's seen in the Prologue but is never mentioned again after that.

I was just thinking about that, they need to fill us in on it someday.

Fact: Their are actually 2 different Mustang's in the game that all have the same car model, but have some noticeable differences by default. (Razor's Mustang is one of them)

Will post pictures later.

I played the 360 version and the car select menu can be a bit glitchy, saying that the entire selection is empty. Also after finishing the game, buying cars appears to be impossible, i tried buying one but the car is not seen in my garage but thankfully my money was still there.

I noticed one was added with Shop Spezial but never thought anything of it, thought it might've just been a test car or something, but I've just checked and it has far superior performance to the standard Mustang but cannot be upgraded.

The car with the TP Temp350 name is the bonus 'Stang

I've driven it and while it is obviously quicker than the stock Mustang, it's still far slower than the standard Mustang if it was fully upgraded. Although it can still have all the visual upgrades that the standard Mustang can have.

Yea that is the one with the TP logo's. I think it is also unnamed in game. Like if you add it to your "My Cars" list or look at it in the rap sheet, it doesn't have a real name.

Looking at my list hex codes again, I noticed their are actually only 2 Mustang's, not 3. My mistake! I do remember trying to put a supercharger on one and the game froze when I tried though.

On mine you can't do any performance upgrades at all (same for all bonus/hidden cars). If you go to the performance upgrades in the shop the options are all greyed out.

I'll try to look around sometime soon and see which one it is.

You can actually get Razor's vinyl in the game via hacking. You may be thinking, go to flames and select that one vinyl right? No. If you change the ID for whatever vinyl you choose, to what his vinyl uses, you can get it. It's been done on the PS2 version before, I myself have done it.

It makes sense why the extra Mustang is quick though. If it's the same Mustang that Razor uses, it makes sense why you face off against a Mustang after dusting an SLR in your M3. The Mustang has to be pretty worked to keep up with your car.

Not that it matters, since Razor wins because he cheats.

I actually intend to challenge Razor using his very own Mustang against the M3 GTR he took from me. I doubt it stands much of a chance, but hey, what do I have to lose? :D

With the rubberbanding the game has (and how the Mustang is actually pretty quick when fully tuned) you might stand a chance.

Right, I should know especially since I was messing a Codebreaker code recently that was causing me to move very slow. Like I was traveling at about 80 MPH and the AI seemed to be doing the same.

Razor will still pack a challenge though because he usually does.

So... I'm on #9 and have a few gripes.

1. Some of the randomized competitors you face off against. I have Baron's Cayman, and in the speedtrap challenges, I've had to try and compete against a Carrera GT, an SLR McLaren, and a road going M3 GTR. Quitting to safehouse and then doing the events over again to reset the grid has made itself a common habit.
2. Speedtrap races can be annoying, both in this game and Carbon.
3. Drag races are incredibly annoying. Glad it's gone in Carbon.
4. Earl proved to put up more of a fight than all the blacklist racers so far. Not necessarily on the first speedtrap race, but the long sprint race I had to restart three times because I screwed up at the very end. Managed to win, but failed to win the pink slip.

Welp... guess I'll do that over again tomorrow.

Using the Supra I didn't find Earl to be that bad. Beat him first time on both events with no issues.

You're not alone. I remember about 9 years ago, my cousin also had trouble with the sprint race and kept messing up on the last corner. He even told me their was a "shortcut" that turned your car around.

I beat him in a single try, but it seems like I remember him getting pretty close near the end. He's still a challenge.

I don't remember having trouble against him last time I played this either. Though, granted with the rubber banding in this game, the lower performing Supra probably tipped things a little more in your favor. That and for me, it was kinda late at night, and my concentration wasn't quite as good. I screwed up on a few of the end bits.

As for the "shortcut" that turned your car around, I haven't necessarily seen it. I avoid a lot of the shortcuts where the road gets curvy and there are short off-road bits that cut through, but it gets to a point where you can maintain plenty of speed on the tarmac, and the off-road bits will slow you down too much.

I'd also like to say that I haven't spent anything so far since buying the starter car. I've managed to get this far on boss cars alone, and with as many mods on them as when they were given to me. Granted, I wonder how much that will change later on in the game.

Vic's Supra helped me get through most of the game, I think until I got Baron's Porsche. I don't remember what I used when I challenged Earl though.

Whenever I get to him again, I may experiment and see. I dread it though because if memory serves me correctly, the sprint race is over 6 minutes long. :ill:

So, I went into the game last night and attempted to do the challenge series events from were I left off years ago. Man, I forgot how challenging this game was! Trying to beat that tollbooth race with the minivan as well as that pursuit with the Civic Cruiser proved to be a much greater challenge than I thought. I mean, I knew the game was difficult at some points, but it was much greater than I anticipated. I am only a little over half way done with the challenge series and I can't help but wonder how hard the last few are.

I don't want to use cheats, but I feel like I may have to. If I do, it will most likely be on only on the events I actually need them.

Not quite that long, more in the realm of 4 minutes.

What's the hardest boss for you guys?
I'd say anyone from the top 4 Blacklist racers if you weren't able to get Ming's Gallardo or Webster's Corvette.

Bull is my favorite though. During my second playthrough with Earl's Lancer, it felt like the Lancer was the perfect match for Bull's SLR and Razor's M3.

Speaking of second playthrough, if I lose all my cars and then start the career over like I did in Carbon, will my rap sheet progress be reset? (Been meaning to ask this for a while now)

New profile or new career?

Does anybody here think that the C6.R and 911 GT2 could have been purchaseable in the career mode if you beaten Bull? I mean with Bull being the hardest boss according to you guys, isn't it weird you don't get anything (other than getting his SLR) when you beat him?

New career. Pretty much getting all your cars impounded and then having to start over. I would like to know if it resets my rap sheet progress.

Interesting theory. I have noticed some of the bonus cars, when added to the stock car list, actually cost a fair sum of money. That begs the question, why do they even have prices in the first place?

I think your rap sheet progress will not reset.

How much does the bonus cars cost? I believe at some point at development, EA Canada was suppose to add the SL65 AMG, 911 GT2, C6.R, Camaro, and M3 GTR Street as purchaseable cars in career mode but due to their counterparts, they decided to make those cars as bonus cars to make them even rarer to drive.

I hope you're right.

Here are some crappy tv screen pictures showing a small handful of bonus cars that actually cost.

First and foremost, the M3 GTR we all know. $500,000.

The slower variant of the M3 GTR. You may not have heard of this one before, but it is slower than the one we all know (Notice the lower specs?) and it comes in red. Same as the other one.

Lastly, the Camaro SS. For some mysterious reason, it's only $5. :odd:

The Corvette C6 R, street BMW M3 GTR along with all the playable traffic cars from the challenge series (Taxi, Pizza Car, Cement Mixer, etc.) are all $0. Haven't unlocked the Porsche 911 GT3 or that AMG yet, so I have no idea on those.
