Need for Speed: Rivals

I'm Ok-ish I guess. Just that I'm sorta interested in the Criterion NFS games. It's coming out on the old man PS3 right? If so, is it any good?

It's made by Ghost Games (new studio from SWEDEN) with help from Criterion. It should play like 2010 Hot Pursuit (cops 'n' robbers awesomeness) and the 2012 Most Wanted (collectables like stunt jumps and billboards).

Hmmmm.... Sparky = Interested. There's an LFA in there as well and a C MOTHERFROAKIN 7 so I just need a bit more convincing.

4 new HIGH-RES screenshots.

People whoa are getting the ps4, sony just confirmed that nfs rivals will be a launch title for the ps4 , nov 15th! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

JUMPS,flips,cartwheels!

Given that it's a "launch" title means that everything now is DLC extra. Which I find a bit :yuck:

Again, with the extra friends list, ability to jump into game, and with the possibility of cross platform ps4/ps3 gaming just means that I would still just get this for the PS3.

When asked whether PS3 gamers could play online with PS4 gamers, Sony stated that “the functionality is technically possible and some developers may choose to support it for their titles.”

I can't quite find the actual article on vg due to it not loading right now but nfs is one of those crossplay games.

I find that hard to believe.

I would imagine they were speaking from a hypothetical point of view, as in yes it could technically be possible but I really doubt it that it will actually be implemented...

Can you try find where exactly you read that there will be cross-play, because no-offence but i think this is B.S

Look at Final Fantasy XIV. Square Enix made it possible for a Cross Platform between PC and PS3.

And Dust 514.

It is possible as any other cross platform game, it is limited to the amount onto a "server"/game. If online is 8 players then out of those 8 can be from PS3 or PS4.

In normal race mode, yes, in hot pursuit mode, racers should try to win as a team.

Not to say you're wrong, but that's your own little made up ideal and I'll explain why. If people want to fight the cops, they can do that out of their own choice. If people want to interact with other racers and play as a team, they can also choose to do that. It's not bad or wrong to do, but it's not something they're required to do either. People will play what they will, there's no in-game rule that enforces what you want, thus your idea does not have ground to be absolute that we must follow.

When I played Hot Pursuit, I didn't fight the other racers, because at the end of the day, it's still a race between each other. I want to be the first to cross the finish line, so if you guys get caught up with the police, I ain't going to help you. The game didn't say to work as a team. They only counted it as the racers' victory if at least one person makes it to the finish line to simplify how they determined a cop's win or loss. The real team in Hot Pursuit were those playing as cops as their objective was to apprehend all the racers, whereas the job of each individual racer was to reach the finish line first (hence the race positions), not "make sure all the racers complete the race".

Yup, you are funny as fk, now you can gtfo ; ) (I hope english is enough correct for you, LMFAO).

No, Im seriously, if its all u wanted to say about this topic, u can gtfo.
I hadn't even considered that it may not be your first language. I'm sorry about it. I made an honest mistake, and if all you can do is intentionally bring people down, than you can "gtfo" as well.
Anyway, I've got the game pre-ordered, and I can't wait to play it. Recent NFS games have been kind of cut and paste, but this looks like they actually listened to the community.

Racers win = atleast 1 racer cross the finish line. Cops win = all racers busted. I didnt mean of course that all 4 racers have to cross finish line.
In HP there are simple tactics, for example there can be 1 runner and 3 other racers can block other cops (sacrifice) to let him run and get a team win. Of course u wont find that kind of players in public lobbies, but in private rooms where we play team vs team, there is a lot more fun.

Look video on last page, mw mode is full team vs team mode, you cant only care about your ass, because that will make your team lose.

Its cops vs racers, not racers vs racers vs cops

Well it looks like there will be no Demo for Rivals until after the game has launched. Due to EA pushing up to a launch title for PS4 they stated no demo for the PS4 version, Which in turns would lead to a no demo for PS3.
