I use very low ARB values for most of my tunes. With this, you can feel the difference between 2.0 points on a spring rate.
ARB 1/2 - 1/1 - 2/1 are the one i use for most of my cars.
Of course with an ARB 4/4 UP ,it's difficult to see any difference. It's a fine tuning option and like you say, ride height and LSD are more responsive 👍

6/7 (If using tune on a FR car(e.g. BMW) use 7/6)

I use this tune with no driving aids (except ABS on 1) and manual transmission.

Don't knock it 'till you try it,if you drive smoothly this is a brilliant tune, it will keep up with alot of 620pp race cars. It's also a good tune on a BMW M3 CSL/GTR.

You're wrong. Softer front springs, will add UNDERsteer.
So why does the game say the exact opposite of this. Go into suspension, hit the yellow question mark, read spring rate guide.

Double post, DO'H :banghead: Sorry

That's what I was saying. He is backwards

None of us agree on the backward settings issue. High front spring rate can work, but not on all cars or drive trains. High front/low rear ride height can work, but not on all cars or all drive trains. Real world tunes can work, but not on cars or all drive trains. See the pattern.

The GT5 physics engine is all over the place. I find that alot of cars fit my template for tuning then a handfull show up and just don't respond. Unfortunately, you are just going to have to test the different thoeries thrown at you as fact and land on something that makes cars respond for your driving style and controller.

You can get a 'balanced' car from whatever settings you want.
The fact of the matter, is that going 1 way 'from your balanced start point' will create X, and going the opposite way will create Y.

It's a linear equation. If you want proof then take your little tune posted above, and plug in the values.

So this is what you've given us, right?

Test 1: Stiffen the Rear Spring rate by 2.0 and test, Stiffen another 2.0 and test, another 2.0 and test, and again and again.
Every time, the car will get TIGHTER. It will understeer more. I don't care what the yellow help marker says, I don't care what happens in real life. The only thing that matters in video games, is Cause and Effect.

Test 2: Now, go back to square one, of your original tune. Now do the reverse. Start at 9.2/10.0 and Stiffen the Front Spring by 2.0 and test. Again and again. Every time, the car will get LOOSER. It will oversteer more. I still don't care what the help menu says.

It's extremely simple people. Cause and Effect.
