ummmmmm wrong. You were the enigmas of the GTR. Thats what happens when you spend 24/7 on one car. But then again there are over 500 cars to drag...

hehe, yes the gtr as you knew it cause in my case i was the guy to beat on other types of cars, enzo, viper, veyron, rx7, r34, hondas, sti and evo, but this was among the Puertorrican community that surrounded me back then. the funny part was everytime i got beated i went and tune a little more and beat them back :D that's why i said back then it was a lot of fun. this days are all in the tree, so sad. some times i just get bored of it and go drift or do seasonal events. we need a drag strip ASAP!!!

Have they really been helpful?

Sadly probably the best comment so far. At least it was a reaction to a post from the OP.

Hi im Noremac and im rather new to Dragging and i need some transmission help on the Nissan SpecV '09 and or Black edition '12. can someone please help me? 💡

Sorry mate, I can't help you, but I would like to repost your question so maybe someone can stop the bragging and noob-calling and just give an edjucated answer. Looking at how many 'pro tuners' flocked around your thread there must be someone who can help.

You have to learn it on your own, your not going to get anywhere from just having things handed to you, somewhere on here there is a post about how to tune against your ghost on Indy road course, start there.

As the OP said he needs, and I quote: "some transmission help on the Nissan SpecV '09 and or Black edition '12"
This doesn't mean you or your teammates should give (or sell (!)) him a complete tune. It just means he needs some advice.
Again, it might be a lot nicer idea to stop the semi-coolness and just give the guy some pointers.

i can help you just click HERE

That's just wrong.

edit: @Noremac7: I have no idea if it is any use to you, but I found this thread in the tuner forum.

If these guys are willing to sell complete tunes, not to mention top tunes that can beat most others, then you shouldn't knock it. We all know that there are plenty that are willing to pay for a top tune just to act like they made it and have bragging rights. You can't be mad at these guys for capitalising on the opportunity. I respect their entrepreneurship. With all the troubles of the world and hardships today, the ability to create a product to profit off of without building a methlab in the woods behind your house should be applauded.

Like I said I personally wouldn't buy em but you do have superb skills and your welcome bud.

If you read the part I reacted to you can see something about things getting handed to you. I was referring to that.
Nonetheless people could and should have given the OP some pointers and not only offer him advice (or worse, a complete tune he might not understand) when he pays for it.
At least, on the rest of the forum this is not done. However, the drag section seems to be a strange little backalley of gtplanet. You can be proud of yourselves guys!

I’m not sure if you’re genuinely annoyed or just using this opportunity to jump on the bandwagon, but I don’t agree with your criticism.

I would argue that (due to the lack of a proper timing system) drag tuning takes longer to perfect than any other type of tuning. Constant testing and adjustment is required to be and stay competitive. It is different from other disciplines due to a larger part of the skill being in the actual tune and because it’s an evolution, most guys have put in a huge amount of time perfecting their cars. I have no problem with people getting paid for their work and it’s preferable to a lot of people who don’t want to put in the effort.

There seems to be a recent increase of drag tuning requests and posters who seem oblivious to the stickies and the search option. If posters “avoid” the search option and “miss” the stickies in the other sections they aren’t warmly welcomed either ;)

If Noremac had read (and followed) this sticky:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=225296

And/or searched this section for specv:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6066615#post6066615
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5540424#post5540424

And/or Transmission:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5676219#post5676219

…he/she might not have received the response they got 👍

If you still think people are not being sufficiently helped then feel free to lend a hand instead of demanding others do more ;)

Fair enough.

Agreed. However, no one replied with "Search!" or "Read the stickies!", which would've been more apropriate.
At least your links to the stickies are a lot more helpfull than a link to a paid tune and a discussion about who's the king of the GTR or whatever thing was going on.

If you still think people are not being sufficiently helped then feel free to lend a hand instead of demanding others do more ;)

As I said some posts ago, sadly, I have no knowledge of transmission tuning for drag racing. If I had I would've helped, believe me. The only way I can help the OP now is by asking fellow GTP members to help instead of do whatever they were doing in this thread. They took a lot of time to post in this thread, they could've used that time constructively, like you just did. Thank you. I guess Noremac7 has left GTP after this, but if he/she is still here I hope it helped.

I have gotten in further than I wanted, but the general attitude in the thread just set me off. Sorry.

I understand your annoyance and concern 👍 It does seem heavy handed at times (this thread especially), but even as I post this we have another brand new member “choosing” to make the same mistake. I’m not entirely convinced all these requests are from genuinely new members, but that’s another story ;)

Some great work went into the guides and stickies here and if it annoys an easy going guy like me ;) when someone can’t be bothered clicking on them imagine how the creators feel 👍
