That's what I forgot from this morning to type..

Yeah, so... Whenever you are flying down the mulsanne for instance and you're about a quarter mile from forza chican and fully depressed accelerator, the map should be in a full view or minimal zoom. Then as you approach the chicane, the faster you deaccelerate, the faster the map will zoom in on you.now your at forza chicane. The map should be completely zoomed in, and able to judge the distance between any cars around you. Now you are exiting the chicane. The map zooms out proportionally to the increase in speed. Once you have reached max gear, with a fully depressed accelerator, the map should be fully expanded and able to see the whole track.

That maybe a solution to you guys, and that's something I'd really want for endurance type races..

That's pretty much how the map works on Grand Theft Auto. While I love it in that game, I'm not sure how I'd feel in GT. A map zooming in and out constantly could be pretty distracting.

I keep my map pretty zoomed in, I already know all the corners and whatnot so I don't need to look ahead.

So maybe a map zoom toggle button?

Yeah, really what we are talking about is being way to specific to cater to the customer. There are things we can go about without and this is really just one.. Left/right/and backwards are all programmed for me so I can easily change views, but the main point was that I said this morning, you have to know what the other drivers will do, and not put yourself in hurtful situations...

well... based on the newest replay provided by Jordan (the Scirocco at Ascari), these "position indicators" appear to work VERY well. The even go from yellow to red as the unseen opponent gets closer to your door!

Me gusta!

Yeah, just watched the video... and I like it! It's not intrusive and gives the right idea of what to expect from other racers closing in. It's great!

I dont understand some players. If i Play a racing Game and if iam going to overtake someone then i have a Feeling for my speed, i can exactly say when iam 1centimeter in Front of the car. Iam not a "Special" Human with Special abilities. If you are playing racing Games then you will get the Feeling for it.

I saw these arrows in the GT 6 Video. Nice feature but for me completly useless.

Play the game for a while (or any other racing game) then you will get the feeling for it.

Ps:
" until someone sees that arrow and thinks "I have to turn, now! Someone's passing me!""

Some days ago i played an Arcade game, i think it was Grid 2 or something like this. It had these arrows too. The car in front of me couldnt get the braking point, went wide. I wanted to overtake him from the inside. Of course i was faster Out of the corner. He was on the edge of the left side and i was completly on the other side . 4-5 Meters between us. Then he saw the arrow and pulled completly over to the right side.

I don't think the people complaining are the ones doing the hitting. I think it's people trying for a clean pass and someone else is in need of the indicators. It's easy overtaking someone...the problem mentioned is the person being overtaken and not knowing it.
