Neil Armstrong Passes Away

He was only 82 years old... I really thought he had another 5 years. So it's way to early. Rest in peace, first man on the moon.

A really sad day for exploration, what he did when stepping into pretty much the unknown (NASA hadn't tested most of its equipment thoroughly because of time constraints.) is up there in my mind with the explorers in the 1600's.

RIP, the world has lost a true icon and rolemodel.

RIP. I think the best way to honour his legacy would be to send more men to the moon and beyond.

Truly sad day. When he said the famous line "....And one giant leap for mankind". Just look how far we have come since that and part of it is down to him.

RIP.

No way :( very sad news, a true world idol, just imagine

The first person to be in other place that isn't in the earth
RIP

I think it's sad he never saw man walking on the moon again.

Armstrong family statement: "Next time you walk outside on clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil and give him a wink." Beautiful thing to say.

Almost brings a tear to your eye. Very sad. RIP Neil

There's now one less man who has walked on another world. Such a terrible loss for all of humanity.

I'm drinking to you tonight, Neil.

Having done something that no one will ever be able to do 'first' again its a tragedy that he's now gone. Such a shame that he never got to see another generation walk on it again.

It's a sad day for humanity when a inspiring legend passes away.

I recall the moment when I first watched footage of Apollo 11 and realized what they had done and the meaning of Mr. Armstrong's words on the Moon.

Somewhere in the future, we may look at the commercial center that space will be at the time and remember fondly of those who were brave and intrepid, those that set the bar higher than ever before and managed to accomplish their dreams.

The world lost a hero, but the legend still stands.

I got quite a shock seeing this headline, and I guess it shows just how long ago now Apollo all took place.

RIP to someone who will forever be one of the most inspirational and recognisable people in history.
