Great... more B-Spec as expected... 👎

I'm not going to touch GT5 for another week...

I made the mistake of using my detuned Speed 8 for the 650 event. Complete disaster, lol. Came in 3rd but not without alot of crashing. Finally got smart and just used my 2J for the obvious easy win.

Level 40 driver in the 2J ... 7 laps out of 10 hit that same ****ing corner at the bottom of the curving run through the tunnel (6 times on my own accord and the 7th when a car in front of me hit it and took me out with him) a la Historic Cup B-Spec. Then the McLaren stops for a pee and coffee to let me catch him on lap 10. I love close racing in B-Spec but not when so much obviously coded in garbage such as is encountered in this particular race/track.

It is better racing and certainly more enjoyable when you do have to work your driver to get him to a good position, rather than put up with 9 laps of frustration where the controller is a flea's donger away from going through the screen.

The 400pp around Monza in the Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus (aero at 7, 188bhp on comfort softs), a great race, catching the Mazda 1800 RS early on the 5th lap for an exciting win. Originally was at aero 15 and 170 something bhp with comfort softs but could only manage second.

Côte d'Azur
2J@650PP
5 race restarts
3 wall crashes in race
1st place on the 9th lap
no wonder they give you 10 laps.

Wow, after I switched to the 2J, I didn't have a problem at all. I used my grandpa bob, lol. My very first bob I created thats been level 40 for like forever. The old man can still drive even tho he has a bifocal winshield, lol.

Ya know B-Spec might not be so bad if more than 10 minutes, a bowl of coco pops and the PD monkeys had been spent programming the AI.

Btw, here is a shot of the B-Spec team hard at work:

Monaco: 2J easy win at 650 PP. I think I got the first place in either the 7th or 8th lap. I was slightly away, so when I returned at lap 5 Bob was cold. Had to get m to pick up the pace.

Autumn Ring: Audi TT. Took the lead in the last lap. Had to nurse Bob through it, but he won comfortably in the end. Two laps to go Bob was 9 secounds down, but Bob used only one lap to catch up.

Monza: Downtuned Acura NSX. Took the lead after two laps. Easy win from there.

Level 39 driver, who is a few races away from level 40.

Up bright & early to do the new B-Spec.
S2000 cleaned up in the 400pp event then an NSX Type R in the 500pp, now I thought the 650pp would be a bit of a challenge, but with my BMW McLaren to hand I took to work. Up to 2nd place just into lap 3 then took & held 1st place from the Ford GT LM Spec II in lap 5...total race time 16:25.811. And my prize was a Lv14 Ticket (Calibra Touring Car '94) not a car I'd buy, but not bad for a freebie.

S2000 sorted out the 400pp & an NSX Type R grabbed an easy win in the 500pp, now I thought the 650pp would be a bit of a challenge, but armed with my trusty BMW McLaren I took 2nd place just into lap 3 & then took & held 1st place at the start of lap 5 from the Ford GT LM Spec II...total race time 16:25.811Not a bad mornings work for 3new helmets & a Calibra Touring Car '94. All with a well trained Lv39 bob & no real set up on the cars other than max downforce on the BMW.

Another chance to let my bob drive my gsxr I think? :)
Quite enjoy these B-Spec races

Just for the record I've done the 650pp race twice more.
The Zonda finished a very poor 3rd, way behind the Ford GT & BMW McLaren. But then used the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car & sailed home nearly 25secs in front of the Zonda with no pushing of Mr Lv40 bob.

Yay, more B-Spec. :D

Am I the only one who enjoys it?

Nope. I like 'em too:)

I have cars just for Bob for these.....old MR2 for 400pp which is pretty much always an easy win. I also have a 4WD Pug 205 that needs an oil change and work well on them sometimes.

Usually my Spoon S2000 wins the 500pp but this Autumn Ring one isn't happening. Might have to break out an NSX or something

650pp is usually in a RX-7 TC or something (I forget:dunce:) or if I need it a Mclaren F1 racer. Not tried the Monaco one yet.

PS Yay, Bob just won Autumn Ring so I'm off to catch a flight to Monaco:sly:

650 at Monaco calls for some McLaren F1 action. ;)

This ^^^ For an easy win, Take lead on 5th lap.

And also try a race modied 111R wont take lead till lap 9 but with coaching and correct setup will win.

Set transmission at 133mph.

650pp monaco - Mazda furai concept. 1st place end of lap 4. No crashes.

I'm telling you everyone, that furai is hands down better then the mclaren and the 2J! Every track it cleans up!

Just won 500pp with Kart
EDIT: and won about 15sec.

I bet it was backwards...

Hey, you`re offending my family.

Hey, you`re offending my family.

Sorry, let's just call them 'distant relatives', very very distant.

Seriously though, the AI is really terrible. On Monaco (my 1st attempt, 1st lap), my Bob after exiting the tunnel and braking for the chicane just turned into the barrier for no reason whatsoever, spun 180 and I lost 4 places. On my 2nd attempt, he was doing ok, I was in the lead with nobody in sight and for some reason on lap 7 he did exactly the same thing.

PD, if you insist on putting out new events where the AI is the key factor, at least programme some AI that doesn't resemble the AI of Ridge Racer........1.

400pp: Found Dodge Ram Laramie in UCD @401pp (16,502 mi.) no oil change / SH tires . Took 1st on third lap after 1st chicane and dominated from there. Lvl 26 bob driving over curbs and cobbles. Quite amusing with no music and the sounds of the cars bouncing off the thing. He was brutal (like he knew he could be, lol)

500pp: Shelby Series 1 SC, one of my favorite online 500pp racers. Lvl 26 bob got beat by a little over 1/2 sec. (only command was pace up during countdown). Lvl. 32 bob took 1st on fourth lap.

650pp: McLaren F1 GTR; Levl. 33 bob caught Zonda LM on fifth lap, went for first and hit chicane wall at bottom of hill. Caught him up for pass at hairpin on 6th lap. Had him pace down before said chicane and never looked back. No coaching needed after that.

I've just let Bob lose in a BTR for the 500pp hoping all will go well. He hasn't lost a race in donkeys, I doubt he'll start now. ;)

EDIT: He's decided drifting this race would be more fun.

EDIT 2: If you've ever seen the old TV show with Dick Dastardly called Catch the Pigeon you can have a laugh knowing that I was singing the theme tune but with the word Honda in place of Pigeon. :)
