Hi everyone,

I am ready to begin my career in iRacing.
I have always been interested in racing simulators, but in fact I've played not much becuase I haven't got a rig and a good wheel.
Now I have a G27 and a comfortable home-made rig, that's why I took up my decision :)

I've read a lot about iRacing and understood a lot, but however I have a few questions for you.

For example, could you explain to me how series work? And how could I get "iRacing credit" by playing?

welcome to the dark side! :)

I believe if you participate in one race each week in one series you earn $4 credit (the seasons are 12 weeks and I think you only need to run in 8 weeks of the season?). I believe the maximum credit you can earn is $10 credit each season ($40 credit/year).

ah, here is something...dated February 2011 that explains a bit more detail

Ok, thank you ;)

So I have only to participate, not to win.

And regarding races, I know that there are races related to series and "free" races, like friendly matches in football.
Am I right?

There is a slight criteria to gain credit:
•Run 8 of the 12 weeks, if a week is dropped you only have to run 7
•you have to run at least half of the laps the leader ran (in your class, not the other classes, when Multi class racing)
•and you have to obtain championship points for that particular race
•I think there's one more but those are the major ones (no you don't have to win ;) )

There's official series and hosted races.
Official is kind of like if GT5 seasonals were run online with real people except it's run in 12 week periods with a new track each week

And Hosted are just races that a host pays for a certain amount of server time and they could make the server use any car or track they have and run up to 3 different cars on the track, and they can make it public or lock it with a Password so only their buddies can join

Please tell me that my new G27 will be auto-adjusted by iRacing.

Now I am playing LFS with my new wheel but I can't find any difference from my old one (a poor formula force EX).
I think it is due to bad settings, so I hope that iRacing will do that for me :indiff:

Have you joined iracing yet? If so I can post a link that will get you going pretty easily. Just some ffb adjustments to your liking from there.

^I registered via Caddy, but I'm yet to activate my iracing account (figuring out hardware specs I need). An e-mail from Cadillac said the code will expire on 5/1/2013.
