We've taken the plunge. Thus far the comp has covered 'relatively' easier cars to design. But I think now we should focus more on the radical concept cars that start out as scribbles on the designer's desk.
This week, we are going to be designing an Audi 'Shooting Brake' purely for show. This one should be purely for concept, so there really isn't any limitation of materials, pricing, etc.
For those of you who don't know what Shooting Brakes are-
Shooting Brakes have been cult favourites for the past 4 decades; ultra high performance station wagons or hatchbacks that have been produced factory (and by custom companies) from such marques as Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini.
The Audi prototype we are talking about should follow this criteria:
-Be capable of 170 mph
-Hold 4 people comfortably
-Must be a wagon/hatchback
-Look like an Audi (It should be identifiable as an Audi without the badge)
-Should look new, innovative. Try not to rehash various other Audi concepts, as it could look out of date.
Examples of Shooting Brakes:
With design criteria that almost necessitate awkward proportions, Shooting Brakes are difficult to design. Hence, this should be a great competition to watch. Good luck to all!
Deadline is next Sunday, unless final entries are slow.
