The majority of Le Mans cars in previous GTs are either Le Man winners or historical Japanese prototypes

The R15 is German and hasn't won anything noteworthy

I think there is a very high chance the Dome S102 gets in (Japanese) and the Pescarolo Peugeot 908 (Sponsored by Gran Turismo and Playstation)

Pescarolo Peugeot 908 Playstation car?

Well you get short 10-15 lap races in real life, sometimes they never need to pit in. Some have mandatory pit stops too.

I think tyre wear should mimic real life, and pit stopping should not be necessary for races <10-15 laps of an average circuit.

I hate doing 10 laps on R2 tyres and needing a pitstop on the 8th/9th lap, its ridiculous.

Not the '05 R8, the one in GT4 is the '01 R8 prototype.

And there are newer Pescarolo models too. :)

Ahhhh, my mistake. I was recently watching videos from the 24 hours of LeMans today from this year, and saw the first few laps of it, and was thinking of the Audi R15 and the rival car Peugeot.

I dont think I've gotten any lemans car to go further then 8 laps at lemans on fuel. The power output is wrong on almost all of GT4 Le Mans cars. I reduced the Pescarolo C60's power down to a much more realistic 660hp (still 10 more then the real thing) and I got it to go 9 laps. Real lemans LMP1 cars can run 12-13 laps on a tank of fuel. Also keep in mind that all cars in GT4 have 80 liter fuel tanks while real LMP1 cars have 90 liter fuel tanks outside of the diesels

The most unrealistic part is the tire wear. This year at Le Mans the LMP1 cars were triple stinting and some times quadruple stinting the tires. That's about 40 laps at Le Mans per set of tires where as in GT4 you'd be fortunate to get super hard racing tires to last longer then 14 laps.

Tire wear itself is way off in GT4, there is no benefit to running harder tires in endurance races as the pit stops are way faster then real life and more then offset any time you gain by pitting less.

As others have suggested, I think the tire wear and the smaller tanks are quite intentional so that both would work properly in most of the longer (but ultimately still short) GT mode race outside of the endurance races. Hopefully in GT5 there would be option for a more realistic fuel cosumption/tire wear. Apparently in GT4 Arcade mode you have the choice of two option for tire wear- Low and Strong- although I would assume none are realistic.

I would then opt for R1 instead. The difference in grip is pretty minimal even in GT4.

You're right. It's been ages since I last played GT4.

Anyway, real P1 cars do go about 12-13 laps at La Sarthe, but at smaller tracks like Laguna Seca, they can go for approx. ~40 laps.

Take any prototype out in GT4 on any track and you won't come close to doing 15 laps per tank, IIRC.

Actually, this goes for any racing car in GT. The fuel consumption is just wrong. It might be fine for shorter races, but it's ridiculous for the endurance races.

I also hope there are more group c cars, new and old. I would also like to see some of the old 60s Grand Prix cars also. In my opinion one of the best parts of this game is the opportunity to driver the race cars and especially the older ones. One of my all time favorite GT cars is the GT40 for that reason, the Daytona coupe needs to be in this one as well.
