new GT2 series interest check

JGTC GT2 SERIES

The All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) has grown to become the largest race series in Japan in terms of participants, with entries of 40 cars attracting motor sports fans across the country (average of spectator count of 44,486 per event in 2000). As the event is held as a semi-endurance race, the strategy utilized for the routine stop to change driver, tires and refueling plays a very important factor in the outcome; surely a unique point that catches spectator interest in addition to the dynamic power of the cars. Overseeing the JGTC Series is the Japan GT Association (GT-A), which works to ensure that every race offers truly exciting battles every lap, from start to finish.

This is only a post to check the interest for this new Series, nothing is official by now. This idea is already completely structured and I have everything down on papers and ready to go if we can get enough people to join. I am not interested to deal with immature people or slackers, neither cheaters. I’m trying to set something up for the rare GT2 lovers left on this forum, so don’t loose my time. If the interest isn’t really there well no problem I won’t make nightmares over it. This is only the resume of the main idea so you can understand how this will take place. Rules and specifications could change in a near future, nothing is final.

Points System : We will use the official JGTC points system for this series.

• Championship point

1st - 20pts
2nd - 15pts
3rd - 12pts
4th - 10pts
5th - 8pts
6th - 6pts
7th - 4pts
8th - 3pts
9th - 2pts
10th - 1pt

One bonus point will be given to the no.1 qualifier and to the racer with the fastest lap during the race event.

Cars : At this point I have a 21 cars lineup for the GT500 class and 8 for the GT300. I will post the official lineup in detail if the idea is approved and I’ll deal with you guys if you want to add or drop some cars. All the cars chosen are actual JGTC cars and Special Models only. Since they are all SM we won’t have Modifications rules, you will have the freedom to tune your cars the way you want it.

Races : The season will consist on a 10 races calendar, one run each week. Qualifications will be run during the week (Monday-Friday) and the weekend will be the actual raceday (Saturday-Sunday). This is a semi-endurance Series so each event will have an approximate length between 30mins and 45mins. The number of laps for each event will be given on Friday night before the weekend only, this way people won’t run the race multiple times during the week to try and get a better time.

Qualifications will be run on Time Trials Mode and you will post your best lap. Each spot on the grid will get + .250 add to your total time. The actual race will take place on the Arcade disk also, with the Single Race mode on Hard. You will first have to set the right number of laps in the game options.

BOTTOM LINE : I’m trying to set this up for you guys, and when I start something I will complete it until the end. I am telling you right now, if you know that you won’t be able to run each week don’t freaking join for Christ sake, slackers will make me angry you can’t even believe how much. If you slack you’ll force me to torture an innocent squirrel and believe me you don’t want this to take place. So this post is only to take the pulse of the GT2 community on this forum, there’s still a decent number of members posting here each day so I don’t see how this can’t work. This can be a **** load of fun believe me, so take the train while it’s passing. If you are interested let me know and post in this thread. Have a good day.

sounds swoit. i'd like to race, still having issues with parity however. people sending in laps of midfield in the 50s saying "oh yeah, i did that in the midget",

Don't worry I'm a specialist to spot the little smart ass sending BS times, and this is a semi-enduro league so it's not to get the best lap but to be consistant.
