What were you trying to download?I can appreciate having a few ads, but I tried to download something and was taken for a ride. Not nice places either. Is that part of the process here or is there an actual way to find the actual download vs going thru all the junk ?
GT Planet don't host those mods, only the ones you get via the sites download section. If a modder hosts a mod via an external provider (such as this example), it's outside our control. The Alpine A364 by fixed_a_bit. Here is the general discussion page:
and the download page:Assetto Corsa PC Mods General Discussion
I remember this car was shared here some time ago, but the link seems expired. Anyone got this floating around their drives? Thankswww.gtplanet.net
Out of curiosity I visited that link and there are definitely a lot of horrible ads present on it, including a few popups and one that tries to trick you into thinking it's the download link. If you follow the instructions on the page (the center-aligned text) the actual download link is easy to find, though.Well at least you see what I mean, and you can get to it via that discussion page, which is NOT a good thing. At least now If I see a sharemods address I'll know not to go there.
Yep, people choose crappy upload hosts all the time - often by habit - and a lot of these places are crawling with fake buttons and popups and bury the real thing off to the right and in small text with a white-on-green button that says "Telecharger", underneath a Google Adsense ad.Out of curiosity I visited that link and there are definitely a lot of horrible ads present on it, including a few popups and one that tries to trick you into thinking it's the download link.
