The miata looks pretty nice. Not hot not over the top or stands out. Dont mess with success indeed.

Dont mess with success? that's exactly what they are doing! I guess since the MX5 was a (very good looking) mini RX7 then it's only natural that they want the MX6 to be a mini RX8......... which is a terrrible decision. The RX8 has got to be one of the ugliest cars i've ever seen!!!

Interesting opinion. I always thought the RX8 was a very VERY good looking car and got the impression that most thought the same.

The MX5 in general has never been an overly good looking car imo, but the MK2 was definitely an improvement.

I agree... The RX-8 isn't a looker at all... My problem is with the front... It looks like its laughing ( )... And just looks plain horrible... I would put a simpler body kit in the from to clean that up... And the new Miata just doesn't cut it... It doesn't look good as the previous versions...

The RX-8 looks like a caught fish. But I do think it's mildly attractive.

I like this new Miata. It's going to be good.

It could be just me, but I find the removable hardtops ugly. If you own an convertible, it's an nice option, but if are not an fan of convertibles, it won't make up for an fixed hardtop IMO.

I guess I could agree to that. Removeable hard tops tend to be more bubble-esque than a straight coupe.

I think everybody's being too hard on Mazda. I like their cars' designs, especially the RX-8. I rate their designs way above average. Just wanted to voice my opinion in support of Mazdas' styling. :)

ok, is the MK2 the one with fixed headlights? cuase that's what i'm talking about, whatever miata # they sold in 2002 until now is one of the nicest little roadsters i've ever seen. But this new RX8 wannabe is crap. :yuck:

Hmmm, tuned up version of the 2 liter MZR ... Interesting choice ... Probably would've been cheaper/more reliable just to put the 2.3 liter in, but I guess they wanted to save weight ...

Don't RX-hate on the RX-8! Okay, it's not the fire-breathing RX-7, but this is a beast of a car. It has four doors, aggressive styling, a clean appearance, and that Renesis motor which got "Engine of the Year" honors a year or two ago.

I guess this design isn't "Miata-like." But even with these designs, if you think the Miata is a girly car, would you consider this car to be more masculine?

IMO, everything but the hood is nice on the car, the hood just doesn't fit in for some reason.

My first impression is that I don't like it. I'm glad I bought my Mazdaspeed MX-5 before the plant in Hiroshima had to stop production due to a fire. 2005 Miatas are not going to be very common, since they were unable to get the factory running again to finish the planned run of 2005's. No more NB's except for what have already been shipped.:grumpy: New Miata's (NC's) might be here as soon as August, according to internet speculation. I'll have to see it in person before I make final judgement, however...

Just based on the styling of the new Miata, I think it will make an excellent successor to M1 & M2. I look forward to reading about its specifications when they are released. If only the Mk3 MR 2 was this good.

the mk3 is just messed up but the mk2 pwnz the miata.
