As we all now, when you first boot up GT6, you can't scroll around the Home Screen until the Login Bonus screen has come up, updated and goes away. Then and only then are any DS3 buttons recognized. The cursor automatically sits on your Garage icon until the Login Bonus screen does it's thing. This morning everything worked fine and I knocked out a Gold in the first GT Academy event. Then this afternoon, I went back to see if I could improve my time, only this time when the game boots up, the Login Bonus screen NEVER appears which means the cursor is locked on the Garage icon and can't be moved. The game is essentially frozen on the Home Screen and I can't play the game anymore.

If I just leave it on the Home Screen, eventually the auto replay mode kicks in and I can exit that by pushing the X button. This returns the PS3 back to the Home Screen where once again it is in the locked position. The Login Bonus screen just never comes up anymore.

I've tried rebooting the PS3 several times, I've tried booting the game with and without logging in first. I've cleaned the disk. Still same result. Anyone else ever had this issue ?

Did you assign that controller as controller #1?

I'm guessing that you know what actually transpired here since your suggestion was the correct answer ... thank you so much responding and helping me out. What I failed to remember is that the Login Bonus screen only appears once in the 24 hour period, so it didn't show up only because it had earlier that morning. And since I had the wheel plugged in when I turned the PS3 on, the controller automatically shifted to #2 which seemed to make a difference in menu navigation. I was hoping it was something simple like that and am a bit embarrassed that I didn't figure that one out for myself. In any case, thank you pyrates for your useful logic

Yep exactly that was my thinking. And don't worry about it. I only know it because I was in the exact same situation and also restarted the PS3 before I later realized what was going on.

I've never had that problem. After about the same time as it would have taken the bonus screen to appear, the cursor unlocks.
