Eh, ok, grazie ragazzo. :)
High LSD and softening the rear suspension, I'll try it.

I never seem to get the last 3-4 corners right, I'm losing so many seconds there because I'm driving too aggressive. :ouch: Got to learn to drive more constantly on that part of Fuji. 👍

FANTASTIC!! Somewhere we can use our best, expensive, hard won brutes (without having to limit power)!

Nice one PD!!!

I did the all the tracks with the Minolta, then did a few with the Peugeot 908s (Laguna Seca, Fuji) and one with the C60 (Fuji). Just tried the FGT at Monza and Laguna Seca (will not take it to Fuji or Suzuka because the car has terrible acceleration), and I'm trying the Ring with it now. FGT is faster (by a boatload) in the corners.

Is it true that the F10 can be used in this event?

Only had a chance to do Monza and Fuji F so far.

Won them both after a few tries. I most likely could have done it the first time, but I was drinking and racing.

I am using the R10 TDI Le Mans '06; It is a great car. Handles well and quick. Little twitchy... but if you are easy on the throttle and get used to it. Equals an easy win (when sober).

Agree!

These cars were gathering dust in my garage and most hadn't even had an oil change yet. Great reason to get 'em running.

Nurburgring event w/ street car.

GT-R SpecV '09

2nd place @ 8'09.xxx :(

Edit: now 8'07.xxx, still a long way from first.

If I could just get some downforce on the front, I think I could do this as long as I don't draw the Minolta on the pole or in 2nd.

Have to drop too much speed to keep the car from flying into the air in a few spots and it's costing precious seconds. 8'05" is about the limit, and that's just not fast enough.

The search continues...

I tried the F2007 and that ended in a failure. I couldn't even keep up with the other F2007s making me think they weren't detuned.

So was that PD's fail-safe just in case anyone wanted to use F2007 or F10s in these races? Make it extremely difficult to pick up time?

It's not really a "fail-safe", it's just part of the usage license that prohibits the Ferrari cars from losing to anything other than other Ferrari cars. (Yes, the Ferrari people really are this uppity.)

The fact that they aren't de-tuned to match your entry is just a programming oversight.

Agreed, it is a cornering machine and the last of the great Group C's. And the gearbox ACTUALLY WORKS in this game! :D See, not every standard in this game is a complete rehash of their GT4 counterparts :D

Although the engine sounds better in real life. Here it's just your average generic buzzer (although I don't mind it myself :))

The 908 isn't that hard to control though, you just need to get the throttle control right so the torque doesn't swallow it all up. ;)

Yeah, i screwed up with the 908 in that lap. But still, im loving the 905 hehe.

Pretty fun when you get to know the track.

Programming oversight, as said above. Entering the F2007 and F2010 into any race fills the field automatically with those cars, regardless of whether they meet the race criteria, so if you detune your car to fit you are putting yourself at a disadvantage.

GTPSP did the same thing, actually.

Thanks 👍. I will remember this next time I have the sudden urge to try racing the F2007 or the F10 in anything other than their specified events.

I really have problems on Fuji with the Mercedes CLK-LM Race Car(fully tuned). I'm not able to get past beyond 3 place. The Minolta, the Sauber and the R92P are always getting away. It's awesome struggling in races for a change, though.. :)

This seasonal event has so much fun to offer. I love it. I'm gonna try Laguna Seca now with the CLK-LM.

I won it by 6+ secs with the Peugeot 905 '92. It feels like it has Racing Softs on hehe.

Just won the Nurburgring in the Zexel JGTC Nissan GT-R by like .6 of a second, fully tuned and on RS's its a really good challenge because it's slow on the straights but handles like a beast!

Tried the Fuji GT event for the first time in the Sauber C9 no assists and race hards, came in 4th :( Slap on some race softs and man does it become easier

STI9
I like these events because they are a little more of a challenge than usual. Tried Nurburgring 24hr and lost 3 times in a row (first time its happened to me) in the Zonda R. I switched to the Sauber and destroyed it. Im going to try the Escudo but I didnt realise the top speed was so high. Whats you guys top speed in the Escudo ?

I set it at 211, a notch higher would probably be better on the escudo, with minimum aero also, they will still catch you in the straights but they'll only gain about 2 seconds, I spun and still won by 1 second to the sauber

I was kind of grinding from the get-go. Ran one with the Peugeot but had to work too hard so I got out the car from the "Mind of Minolta", put of the "softs" and smoked 'em. Didn't even fell like shifting, used the auto. Lazy day.

Very nice seasonal! Finally a great chance to try and compare all of my race cars.

I tested Minolta, Escudo, Peugeot, R92P, C60 and a lot of other standard beasts but in the end I noticed... the car I love absolute most... is Mazda 787B. Such amazing handling, sound and acceleration. It was pretty overwhelming in the races.

FINALLY, we get to use the big boy cars. With that said,
CRUSHED them 5-0 1st shot using my fully tuned Minolta.Had to use +2 traction control, other than that, no aids. Was fun using my Minolta again.Still cant compair cr and time against Sarthe and the ferraris tho.nohing worth grinding on this event.Maybe nurb for some xp.

Just a little of my experience so far wit hthis one. Using the Hybride since I just obtained it.

Monza - LOVE this track and know it well from running F1 laps around it in GT5. Hybride is powerful enough for the competition here, but I seriously misjudged its braking and nervousness out of turns even with RS. Took me 3 passes to get the braking right, and some light tuning to get it to act right out of turns. Still, throttle control, throttle control, throttle control. Even on my last run that I won, I spun negotiating the final corner and had to block to retain first. Hardest part for me was negotiating turns 4 and 5.

Fuji F - Uh yeah. Still working on this one. I refuse to give up, but the car is in need of serious tuning for this track, most notably in Corner 13, Netz Corner, and Panasonic Corner (oe maybe I just need driving lessons). Uphill always sucks, and uphill trying to corner only makes it worse. Going to try again once the child is in bed, but I can see this being a project for me in this car.

Won all the races fairly easy using various cars.

Been grinding the Ring. Tried the Peugot 905, Mazda 787b, Toyota 7, Minolta, Silk Cut Jag and just bought the Audo R10 TDI to try out.

The Audi is a complete dog compered to the rest imo, car feels heavy and sluggish. Anyone any suggestions to get the best out of it?

I tuned them all to my liking and use a 6-axis with no aids except 1 abs. Out of them all I found the Jag XJR-9 to be the easiest to drive and ended up posting my fastest lap which was 7:25 (I'm not too hot around the Ring). All cars had 5-5-25 on the LSD to keep the rear in check. The Jag was the least skittish out of slow corners without compromising cornering using that setting.

Loving the challenge of the new seasonals. 👍

Gonna start trying some non le mans type cars next.

Ok, my avg times per track using my fully tuned Minolta( only aid, +2 trac control).Kinda bombed nurb ( had a few adult drinks by then) but still won.Kinda spun 2 times..

Avg lap times.Could have done better.
Laguna Seca 112.xxx
Monza 131.xxx
Suzuka 141.xxx
Fuji 123.xxx
Nurb(uggg) 7.01.215 <<< not my best track spun out a time or 2. =(

Came 4th using a fully tuned Italia at Monza. I only tried once though. I think if I could turn in my best lap time 5 times in a row, I could get close.

I've now tried the race with different cars (Nur at least), and lost in the following:
1. BMW V12 LMR (I was driving a little stupid)
2. FGT - to achieve a 750 PP, I had to increase ballast and re-distribute weight, which wasn't that lovely...consistently was 8 seconds behind lead...

SO, with that, I've decided to stick with the Peugot Hdi (Premium) and/or Bentley Speed Racer 8....
