New TC Tunes

Right, lets drop this now shall we and behave like adults. Don't make us come back and close this thread. đź‘Ť

My very first reply to this thread suggested RKM Motorsports. Because the GTPlanet App does not have copy/pasting of links, I could not share the link at that moment.

So, go here for TC and other solid setups. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=136731

You don't need to be a Pit Master or an executive chef to know that seasoned food tastes better than foods with no seasoning.

I did a 5:59:750 in the gtr R35 on the Nurburgring earlier

I did a 5:57, with all ABS off,

then I took it online, and unfortunately my offline tune could barely drive in a straight line past the first 3 corners, (don't know why this is since GT5 release), and then a fella in a RX-7 TC Blew the doors off of everyone, including a Zonda R, that was most hilarious to see.

I think I now know the purpose or Tuning sheets, A, B, C
A - offline
B - online
C - experimental

Have you tried the R35 TC tune from RKM?

Lambob
I shall try it on Sheet C !

:)

Lately I've been doing most of my testing on Trial Mountain. Laps are quick, has elevation changes, is a GT staple so most people should know it well, and it offers pretty consistent lap times.

What tracks do you like for testing?

I test and tune my favorites solely for Nordschleife. I believe in raised ride heights, and soft springs and ARB, and forgiving dampers only. LSD tuning is a total mystery to me to this day, I just pluck in what ever value feels better than the one I tried before.

But soon I will start tuning them for online only first, or both.

p.s I cannot locate RKM tune for R35TC, main page only mentions the N24.

pls advise. (I suppose I will ask them)

If I'm not mistaken, I used the N24.

I just checked my screenshots, yes I did use Dragon's "Fanboi Express". Since I'm using the mobile app, I take screenshots of the setups.

The only problem I was having was when the car was at maximum power. At that time we were in Spec 2 and LSD's were nonexistent. The car had a bad push.

I'm currently working on a tune for the R35 TC. I start out on Deep Forest, because it's a shorter track, then once I get my base tune, I move to Trial mountain, then a flat track of choice, and finally cape ring periphery for the corkscrew test. So far on Deep Forest I'm only running low 1:03's online, with tire wear off. But, due to my long break from GT5 my marks are all a bit off, so I can't trust my lap times yet. If anyone's interested in giving it a spin, giving some feedback and helping along the process, let me know.

As for the other Touring Car tunes, my site now has them listed at the very bottom of the page. And now that winter months are coming, I should be able to be more consistent with the updating of the site.

I'll test it out for ya bro. Give me the settings you got so far and tell me the track you want it tested on.

Ok, well, first make yourself a baseline.
I have my R35 maxed out, with the exception of Engine Tuning, because it can't be undone, and we only get one. This is 753hp for me, if you need to use the limiter. Use aero at 35/45, default transmission. Take the car to your favorite track, online race, grip reduction real, no aids, tire wear off. Put down as many laps as you need, record your best 3 laps. Take some short notes, of how the car felt, what you did or didn't like, what could be better worse, etc. I'll shoot you my settings tomorrow evening for the tune I have so far(still tweaking as we speak), and we'll see how much better/worse it gets. Give me some feedback, and we'll go from there. Anyone is more than welcome to participate in this. Hopefully by this time next week, I can get a finished product out.

With my new to tuning tune, I reached a time of 5:53s on the Nordschleife (offline practice) and all aids off, ABS 0.
This car is nuts, and bolts.
Nuts at how fast it is, Bolts at how it stays put to the nut.
The N24 cannot go as fast.

my updated tune settings on this fantastic Ride:
(Offline practice, no Aids please, wheel G25, Manual Paddle, real Grip settings)
(Didn't test online yet, but surely will require a radical different tune)

R35 TC - tuned for Nordschleife now 5:52:75x with no ABS

& after 1 yr of playing this game, I finally found out some practical magic to LSD settings on this track.

(Off the top of my head;
700pp, 897HP, stock weight, no ballast.
Engine to 3.
Aero fr and back, 2 notches from maxed
Ride Height F: +6 , R: +5
Springs, F: 13.4 , R: 12.2
Damp Ext F: 5 , R : 3(don't recall if 3, or 4)
Damp Com F: 2, R : 3(don't recall if 3, or 4)
ARB F: 4 , R: 2
Toe F: -(Neg).10 , R: +(Pos).30
Cam F: 0.7 , R: 1.0
LSD F: 7/42/11 , R:8/46/8 (still experimenting, but 1 thing I discovered for damn sure, is high Accel values are your friend, more explained below)
Torque Split: F:20/R:80

Brake Balance, F: 2 , R: 3
Racing Softs.

Top Speed on Straight: 335 km/hr (with feathered throttle to prevent engine cutoff)

Consistent Laptimes with all Aids off: 5:55s or better. (striving to acheive 5:49:xx, will require a lucky error free lap, but % of doing so is very good in this car, depends on my stomach)

Transmission: Tweaking here and there, but aim for FD 3.600-3.620 (whilst the adjustable top speed is set to lowest @ 200km/hr), to get your new top speed of 340km/hr, and maintain Tasmanian Accelleration.

Now: Why did I decide to try high Accel LSD settings? well, for the longest time, I see tuners using settings of 10, 15, 25 etc, so I naturally played with this range (for far too long)

During this time, my GT5 Peeve was: mundane understeer, or shooting wide out of Apex on Downshift. (when engine revs higher)

When engine revs higher from your downshift, even though you are physically slowing down, and constantly bumping about from this narrow track and rumble strips, your wheels are not slowing down, engin power can be transmitted to the free spinning wheel and cause undesired effects, they try to spin under monstrous HP. Raising the Accel LSD will allow you to make those turn ins on downshift, with ease. No Understeer for raising this , "as indicated in the manual".

When I raised my accel settings from 25 range up to 40 and over, I shaved 3s off the lap instantly.

now, on to Brake LSD settings, I prefer them low, because the car orients itself better at crucial braking points, than it would with locked/ limited rotations. Not sure if I'm explaining this right, but I tried higher settings, and I believe higher settings are fantastic for long tracks like Sarthe, to slow down that Enzo as if pulling it from behind, but this isn't needed on the Ring.

Thank (edit:goodness.)

Fun point: when doing those 1st sets of triple chicanes early on in the track, (section before approaching the first downhill bridge), at approx 20-25s mark, you can literally throw the steering wheel into spin, in the direction you are turning, like those classic pole position arcade games, without a hitch.

Thank god.

I'll give these accel settings a test on some 4wd cars. If it solves the problems you've indicated then it is indeed a Godsend!!!

PS God is always capitalized...if you don't want to end up in the fiery pits of hell that is...lol.

I'm gunna try that set up online Lambob

I agree with the LSD(on this car). I'm currently running 60 Accel on the rear and 50 on the front. I haven't found a point, where this car can break traction during acceleration on either tire. And this has always been my standpoint on LSD Accel(, run as high as you can, without breaking traction. I think my FTO setup also uses an extremely high Accel.

Last night after another hour of tweaking, I broke into the 1:02's at Deep Forest, 1:15's at Laguna Seca, 55's at Grand Valley East, and I can't remember the Trial Mountain times, but I think it was in the 1:13's. I'm still trying to tune out the tendency to understeer from center out, under acceleration, so I've been making a lot of Shock changes and running a lot of laps.

This is still a very rough draft, but feel free to try it out and let me know what you think it needs.

Online, DFGT, Grip: Real, Tire Wear Off

Max Upgrades except Engine Stages 1&2 are not applied.
HP: 758
PP: 669
KG: 1215

Down Force: 35/45

LSD:
7 / 8
50 / 60
5 / 6

Torq Split: 50/50

RH: 2 / 0
SR: 15.5 / 10.8
Ext: 7 / 9
Com: 7 / 10
ARB: 4 / 3

Cam: 2.5 / 2.0
Toe: 0.00 / -0.23

Brake Bal: 5/ 7

Tranny isn't special, just a very quick tune.
Final 1: 4.200
Top Speed: 124mph
Final 2: 2.500

1: 3.676
2: 2.695
3: 2.148
4: 1.804
5: 1.555
6: 1.367

This puts the top speed at 200, and gets the car right at red line, for the tracks I use it for. For longer tracks, this tranny tune won't work.
