Okay,

I have posted everywhere except Torc Talk and there is some discussion everywhere which is a start but no one has confirmed yet when BC is. Here is a summary of my findings so far

• GTWeb: Tannis has replied and is not that interested, I'll convince them

• GTN: No response so far

• GTTimes: ac.cobra 427 has replied and is hesitant

• GTPlanet: Obvious

• GTIRN: Only just posted there

• GTRP: Lots of interest, waiting for Didi to return from holidays for admin point of view

• GTPlay: Lots of French discussion and I'm struggling to understand it, but I THINK there is support (after initial confusion)

• Team Numbers: One reply from Ryk, needing more clarification, hopefully some support

• SOGT: One reply from madbesl, supported

• Torc Talk: Any help here would be appreciated

• Crazy Team: No reply

• GTChallenge: Same prob as GTPlay but I think Wayne understands me and is helping clarify my thoughts

• GTPortugal: Supported

So I'm not quite sure where to go from here perhaps the best thing is to get the contact details of race stewards at all these places, I might start seeking this info next

If AC is hesitant pm 'Bobkart', he is the guy in charge there (unless I totall missed something)

I've replied tothe thread over at the TorcTalk forums. I'm sure a couple of guys will give it a shot. Don't expect big numbers though, as i know how busy some of them are. But with its more laid back approach than the BC's, it will have added appeal.

And thanks for the heads up for my LAN MisterWeary. But Rare White Ape from the GTX is already comming , and Brandstormer can't make it.

Looking at the various threads around the place, don't you think the 'BOARD CHALLENGE 6 PROPOSITION' title is a bit misleading, especially since its not going to be a BC6?

One thing though ...... are replays going to be mandatory?

I was thinking we wouldn't need replays at all, if we get some random people, not associated with any board who put up dodgy times then maybe we could request some verification? Maybe all we need is another board member to verify they've raced with the person before? Not sure, I'd like it to be informal though so we can get more participants. As for the ambiguous thread title, I guess it is misleading in a way, any suggestions if I go and change it?

And Small_Fryz, I'm not sure about actual BC dates etc but I've PM'ed the main dude over at GTRP and he might be able to give me some info 👍

I know lots of guys don't own replay swapping devices, and you would get more guys running in it were not a condition. But it always leaves me feeling a bit uneasy when guys can't be asked to share replays and have no qualms or problems doing so. I can see some who could be tempted to bend the rules in order to get an inflated position.

But its a hard one i guess. Do you make it mandatory to have a replay swapping device and thus lose half your competitors? Or do you make it not a requirment and see it left open to certain types of people who could undermine its credibility?

Compared to price of the console, the game, the memcard and the controller or a wheel, the price of a replay device is just peanuts : it's cheaper than buying a second memcard !
Most of the racers in BC are regular racers on their board, and most of them already use a replay device to copy their gamesaves, lap replays or übersaves on the PC hard disk.
IMO, posting the replay of your lap is mere politeness towards other racers. It does prevent cheaters from posting bogus times too, and it removes any suspicion when a slow racer suddenly run a fast time.

And I don't think that you lose 50% of the racers by requesting replays. You mainly lose people who race here and then and most of them don't run in BC events.

I know lots of OLRers who don't own xPorts, Joytechs or MaxDrives. I know that alot of the guys over at the GTX (and some others) forums don't have em.

And since this is not a BC event it may be a good idea to rename all of the threads around the place to something a bit more appropriate.

So they will be running side by side? If this is so then replays would not really be that big of a deal, as the main BC would be for the 100% validated runs, while your interboard races would be for the 'extra' drivers who may have not made (or wanted to make) thier forums teams and want something a bit more relaxed. As long as this does not add any extra pressure to the already volitile BC event.

But if this series is going to be run when the next BC is up and running then i'm afraid smaller forums (like the TT) will definately struggle to get any drivers beyond what is required for the BC proper. I'm sure many of the other forums will have drivers aplenty, but for us and a couple of others this may not be the case. And i'd be struggling to devote time to anything apart from my BC runs, so running in both would be a no for me (and most i'd imagine).

Whatever happens i'll enjoy watching what comes of your idea mate. Good luck. 👍
