This is set for release 23 rd September if these sources are correct . Not long to wait at all .

149 euro only the new wheel to apply on the T500 for the owners,
599 euros the integral T500 F1

FWIW I had machined two hubs for a guy here that was installing a very similar wheel. Maybe the same. He is a PC racer and mentioned all gizmos work on there.

So could these be his pictures? Could be leaked product pics from TM ? Did I get resourced to make a hub for TM? Last one highly unlikely.

Either way it's pretty awesome.

Totally agree.

At least need a monitor/TV first lol.

Same here the Mrs wants a 3D TV... at least she cant crash the TV... first things first... :dopey:

If thats true... thats pretty cheap comparing to similar hand made (less good looking) custom F1 rims (around 500 - 750)

Wow, if this is real it's definitely worth a look. Just wondering how they are going to implement the additional f1 shifter. Also it looks like a great replica, considering Ferrari replica wheels can run into the thousands:tup:

The shifter is attateched to the wheel (just like in the real thing) and its in plain site on the first photo...

On the pc with the right sim it might be heaven, but otherwise it is somewhat crazy. It is also way bigger than the original. :/

Of course it's bigger. Not everyone in the real world has hands as small as those "jockey" drivers you find in F1.

Which sources?

And for those that have, what's the procedure for taking the wheel rim off?

I haven't played an F1 game since Crammond as they have all been terrible. c'mon Geoff, dust off the old keyboard.

However, just because of the cool factor, I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying this and therefore the upcoming F1 game, better buck the trend of the past 15+ years.

I foresee injuries

as far as i know and can tell you just screw the rim on... their is u youtube video of someone unscrewing the wheel. So i guess u do it like that so buy the t500 if u want

No it clearly says "Thrustmaster" on it and it is for the "T500RS" as the photo highlights.
It is a licensced product no different to other "Ferrari Wheels" they make. Ferrari is not producing it.

Then again to some its probably just more "Vapourware" :boggled:

Everyone can clearly see the big fat Thrustmaster logo and until we get more info from an official source don't be offended if I ignore your advice on this one. But you might be right. In any case both TM and Ferrari should be contacted.

just as I was about to buy the T500 RS, I think I will wait for this one. Hope it works with GT5 as well.

It should be just a wheel rim t500rs owners can just attach to our wheel base. Our wheel rim is fairly painless to take off I've read.

Haha that would be pretty funny if you did get resourced for it and there is only like 1 or 2 of these wheels

No worries mate, will depend on the price as an F1 wheel is pretty limited to the F1 games. However its good knowing it seems Codemasters will continue the franchise once the F1 Concorde Agreement is sorted.

Still a fake, lol?

you know it would've been awesome if you would've linked where you got the pic.

they do, but xbox only

thx, but i was talking about a wheel rim for the T500rs base, not the cheapo version they did for x360

may just go to a car specialist shop and ask them to fit leather on my wheel, since i am not a fan of this rubber. still hasn't grown on me after almost 9 months with it

anyone around London done that?

At 1st I was wondering what you meant. Yeah a 458 steering wheel would be a great idea. Was also hoping they would think about an LMP wheel rim like the rim used on the peugeot 908 hdi fap

Okay so I was watching F1 P2 and Will Buxton stated, "Yeah, they had a couple of simulators set up yesterday not with their official program on it (meaning not ferrari's programming) but with the new F1 2011 game that is coming out a little later on this month and they are launching a new kind of steering wheel which you can get for the game which does everything a proper F1 steering wheel should do so I got to drive around Monza with this simulator and I gotta tell you driving around monza anyway was just an absolute joy but then the guy said hey you are not hitting your DRS or KERS, and then it got difficult because you are hitting your DRS every time you are on the straights you are hitting your KERS and the boost you feel with the KERS is UNREAL but then your braking distance is shot to pieces and I suddenly got the most amazing sort of look into how tough it is to be a driver in F1".

There was no mention as to whether it was a PC or PS3. They did not say it was from Thrustmasters and they did not show any pics but one can assume we all are going to be in for a treat!

I read that they're already selling the wheel addon for the T500RS. I'd be lying if I said that TM didn't impress me with this move.

Pretty smooth. Release a kick ass, precise, finger-dislocating wheel and on top of that, release different wheels so you can swap them depending on what you're playing. 👍

Welcome amf7!

Had to pause and rewind a lot but it was great to hear the excitement in his voice over the simulations and what it takes to be an F1 driver.

Go MclarenMerc/Hamilton/Button!!!!!!!!!!!

So apparently this wheel is obviously being produced by Ferrari. People should be trying to get in touch with them about this wheel rim

This is what you first stated...
Again I say what was obvious was how you've ignored the Thrustmaster T500RS and Thrustmaster logo.

Everyone can clearly see the big fat Thrustmaster logo and until we get more info from an official source don't be offended if I ignore your advice on this one. But you might be right. In any case both TM and Ferrari should be contacted.

Firstly Im not offended at all. Let me ask you something, why would you assume this was a Ferrari product then? Why would Thrustmasters name be on this "Wheel Rim" product if it was produced by Ferrari? Why would it be connected to a T500RS using the wheel base/shifters and pedals? Also why should they be contacted, for what reason?

I would expect a full press release will come in due time when they want to announce it officially.

Yes however the two photos in this thread clearly demonstrate each setup which have labels for "F1 2011 PC" & "F1 2011 PS3". Of course the T500RS supports both those platforms, is shown in the pics and Thrustmaster are official commericial partners of Ferrari. It all makes sense to me anyways.

* For the record...
The picture I liked earlier showing the rim off the T500RS is NOT from this event but was demonstrated @ CES Las Vegas in Janurary.

@Mr. Latte that was what I read elsewhere but after further research that seems highly unlikely so like everyone else I am awaiting an official press release about this. So far Ferrari has only released Virtual Academy but has yet to make steering wheels, etc. But ya at this point I just want some official confirmation. [edit] But I agree with you after some thought that seems like a very foolish assumption to make

What I meant was i will not be taking your advice it's vaporware. But you typed up that post before you posted the pics. So your chance has stance has changed I believe!

@amf7, good looking out! Apparently TM is just tossing this to vendors. No press release or anything!

OK THANKS BUT IT Seems official sort of now its on amozon??

Yeah but this is weird it's not advertised at US-Amazon or any other US stores :scared:

Is it possible these things are still in transit to the US!? :ouch:

Man I'm starting to get frustrated with Thrustmaster with their cloak-and-dagger activities. It is so darn hard to give these steering wheel companies money I tell ya!

Man the PC sim community are so gonna go nuts over this. And I pray the PS3 version will of course support all of this since I'm getting both versions

$2,230 Gadget Review

The Thrustmaster version doesnt seem to have the carbon effect.

Oh what is it with you Texan's and this "Vapourware" term?
To you then its vapourware, yet to most others its a first viewing of a new Ferrari/Thrustmaster Wheel/Accessory. A collaboration that has been expected and hinted at in the past.

The fact that it has been shown, manufactured and working behind doors to select people. Used on their T500RS product for 2x Platforms the wheel supports. I think that is more than enough evidence to assume at this time this is a new product that will be hitting the market for the T500RS and as linked or said by others also as a new packaged Thrustmaster wheel and pedals.
