During bad wether a few weeks ago in Germany there was a TT crash reported with both people killed.
First they all say it was a Mk1 TT that crashed with two Famely fathers in it driving home from work after the nightshift.
But now it is become clear that it was a Mk2 TT that crashed.
With in 20 minutes of the crash there was a special Audi unit te retrieve the car from the crash site.
Here are the pictures.

Because of too high speed the truck from Italy came transverse and had a breakthrough the central reservation of the autobahn and crash into the Audi TT Mk2 prototyp.
The two family fathers where killed instantly.

R.I.P :indiff: They had no chance. :nervous:

Best pics of the new TT so far though I reckon. The back looks like a R8.

those pictures are disturbing...wow.God Bless those and their families

now for the new TT you say, looks amazing...i like the doors. makes it look like a racer.

thanks

Damn, what a crash. I'm going to assume someones either dead, or close to it, which makes it even worse.

That R8 looks amazing though, even in flat black it would turn heads so fast the hospitals would be filled with whip lash patients. 👍

You do realise the bottom 3 pics are the R8, not the new TT. The top ones are the new TT.

Wow, the R8 looks amazing. Looks great with the Gallardo rims.

The rear really reminds me of a Porsche 959...
I thought I was the only who thought the rear reminded me of Porsche.

Perhaps some influence from them as well?

As much as I like the 1st-gen. Gallardo rims (and they really seem to fit a lot cars), I do expect to see new ones (Of course).

Most of the resemblence is the solid red bar connecting the taillights, which is probably just camouflage...

So, which form of the R8 is that in the picture? It looks great, but I want to know whats under the hood, and what kind of lap times it is turning at the 'Ring. I'm going to bet that the car will be good, damn good, but I don't think we are going to see world-ending performance figures, as weight is going to be an issue.

I cant wait for the Z06 vs R8RS vs F430 vs Gallarado vs 911 Turbo comparisons!

Don't you mean, the Z06, R8RS, F430, and Gallardo < 911 Turbo comparisons? :sly:

911 Turbo is going to kick everything up a notch, but I dont know if it is going to be better (performance wise) than the Z06.

Well, if it's any indication, live4speed has the following listed on his Nordschleife road car lap times thread...

7'40 - Porsche 911 turbo (997) - 2006
7'42.9 - Corvette Z06 - 2005

Considering the 997 Turbo has a ~350lbs. weight disadvantage and ~20hp power deficit, that ain't half bad. :sly:

As for the Audi R8, I don't think it'll be able to beat the Z06, F430, or 997T...after all, its brother, the Gallardo, couldn't. :indiff:

The bar is just a camouflauge. The red strip doesnt have the semi-transparency and the reflaction of the plastic. But that R8 looks great, really!

Btw no wonder the two guys in the TT was killed...the cargo on the semi just went right through the roof and tore it apart...disturbing.

R8 looks good! 👍

Just a question about the TT: The guys that died are likely to have been 'testing' the car, or taking it home from the factory or something? This car was likely a test car, that's why Audi came to pick it up?

Sad news indeed.

Wow, that R8 is absolutely gorgeous. Way, way better looking than the Gallardo and if it's based on similar underpinnings and the same motor then it should be an awesome car.

I just hope that Audi don't make a technically excellent car which distances itself from the driver like it has a tendency to do. However, the new RS4 is a sign of change in this area so I have high hopes for the R8 to be a real giant killer in the mid-range supercar world.

BTW old TT: ugly. New TT: uglier.

I like the Audi R8 in that flat black colour better than I do the blueish Concept :).

The R8 will come in at entry level 420/450bhp from RS4's V8. It might get the V10 from the RS4 and that will kick out a minimum of 550bhp. Im hoping for a 600bhp V10 BiTurbo that is rumourted to have tested at the ring. Audi wanna take BMW's crown.

Oh and theyre also making a Audi A7 which will be a A6 coupe CLS challenger. They just need something to go up against the SL and 6 series now.

Don't worry, Audi will never surpass Toyota in this area.

I'll begin with the crash. You all may know that I'm not a crash fanatic. That damage was pretty gruesome to that TT. Ouch. And my best wishes go out to the two who were killed in the crash. Absolutely unreal.

Is it just me, or do I actually see this R8 thing looking more like a longer Porsche? I'm normally not the one who b*tches about designers running out of ideas or cars looking too much like other cars, but this is kind of like an elongated Porsche 959 with an Audi front. The design is clever to be honest. That's going to be a great Audi come release. I'm giving this thing 89% approval.

Id say that looks pretty darn good. Its not a Corvette or 911, but still looks great...

Two-tone jobs are only cool if done right. Matching black with this North Carolina Tar Heel blue is cool... if it were the 80s. It's ugly here. How about silver all over? Silver or a dark green would be better for this car, even though it is a concept.

Ahh, the R8... the of Audi's weapon that's PWNED most of the competion between 2000 to 2005, now a pretty nice supercar for Audi. Way to go, Auto Union (I forget the DI part).

Way to go, Auto Union (I forget the DI part).

It is rumored that it is Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt, but the real origin of the name is that "Audi" is the latin equivalent of the company founder's last name -- August Horch.

"Auto Union" came about in 1932 when Audi merged with Horch (August's first company, that he was forced out of), DKW, and Wanderer. The four rings of the Audi symbol represent these four companies.
