I did a comparison between 1993 Honda NSX, 1992 Honda NSX-R, 2002 Honda NSX, 2002 Honda NSX-R. I was really looking forward to see how the newer regular NSX would compare against the older NSX-R, and was surprised how well the older NSX-R held its own. But anyway, the regulations were 10 laps on Twin Ring Motegi by B-spec Bob on setting 3 with no driving aids. Anyways here are the results and some photos I took of my fun laps. The total times may be a little bit off.

Well, 02 ups have strong motors stock, but the earlier models have fairly strong motors for their age. I forgot to say that all the cars had an oil change before the challenge. The brakes on both type r's were good for stock. I can't say anything except the brakes on both of the non type r's suck. All of the cars have just a hint of understeer naturally, but it is more pronounced on the older models. With racing tires, any of these would just hunker down and grip through any corner. If you plan on tuning an nsx, an lsd is a must no matter what. The 02 NSX-R is great for cup races. I just did an arcade race with one unmodified on sport tires and i was surprised when I beat an fd by over a lap and a half.

yeah i figured that but couldnt be bothered to edit, i just hoped you wouldn't come back and point that outto everyone. lol

Interesting match up. 👍

I'm interested to see how the '99 Type S Zero would stack up. :mischievous:

Btw, I downloaded an awesome video the other day right along these lines...

Original Type R being driven by the Man himself, Senna!

A walk around the car followed by a full in-car lap at Suzuka.
The lap was amazing and for once I felt like I could really appreicate the testing and research put into the car. 👍

Being that Senna was the test driver during the research and experimentation for this car, I can now fully understand why the NSX is such an awesome ride. :)

I wonder if B-spec Hank can keep up with Senna?

Haha yeah if look at the speedo in that video right after he leaves the pits you'll see that it is buried at the very bottom:eek: I'll have the results for the older type s and the newer type s up soon. I'm not really sure where those two will end up in timing.

nice job... was always curious to see how some numbers would stack up without--you know--having to do it myself, heheh... the '92 Type R is a very planted car for an earlier MR--very nice manners, though my nerves would get a bit frayed in 5th-gear, highspeed corners where i had not installed optional downforce... the precision of its handling and fine exhaust note make for a very formidable road-scalpel... that Senna tested it makes it much more so special... Senna's a racing god... 👍

erm--yes, mine's "B-spec Beavis"... total spazz on the course... i think he's frantically looking for T.P.... :dunce:
