New Years Day SNAIL SPEC Racing Mini Enduro's​

First Q session starts at 2:00pm Eastern

Open to everyone, but we will be using 2 of the SPEC / Tuning Prohibited cars from the December 30th line-up. We expect all drivers to follow our OLR Rules and pursue good racecraft at all times. Make sure the Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC) '90 from the NCD has been broken in for full power. The Caterham is available from the OCD and only requires an oil change to achieve full power.

Combo 1
Caterham Seven Fireblade '02 (Sports Soft tires)
10 minute Qualifying
25 Laps (approx 45 minutes) at Indy Road Course with tire wear on Fast.

10 minute Break

Combo 2
Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC) '90 (Sports Hard tires)
10 minute Qualifying
30 laps (approx 45 minutes) at Rome Reverse with tire wear on Fast.

Settings

Boost: Off
Penalty: Weak (and Effective for Free Run)
Race Finish Delay: max
Visible Damage: Off
Mechanical Damage: Light
Slipstream Strength: Weak
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: Fast
Grip Reduction: Real

Driving Aids: Only ABS 1 allowed

Dragon I am in the market for a wheel stand and would love your opinion/review when you get yours.

Well, I have a DFGT on a standard wheel stand pro. At first I was heartily satisfied with the stand but after learning more about driving in GT5 with PURE and SNAIL, I've discovered a kink or 2 in this stand. When having to do serious counter steering for any reason the stand will tip right or left and this of course upsets the steering input quite a bit. Pretty sure a simple fix for this would be to insert some tube extensions in the rear cross beam. 2-4" would be enough, I think, to cure that up. May toss some measurements towards Owens and see if he'll make some for me.

For the G27 I picked up the wheel stand pro deluxe which is supposed to be wider from the factory than the standard model. I'll let you know how that works out, perhaps next weekend. It's not due in until Thursday this week. Poor G27 looks a bit forlorn sitting on my floor waiting for its stand. Major UPS fail. FedEx got the wheel here a full 2 days ahead of scheduled delivery.

Stand was sitting an hour away from my house according to UPS tracking site but they wouldn't let me go pick it up. Bunch of wankers.


My self discipline is being tested mightily. Just turning the G27 with no power is so much different than the DFGT with no power.

Just did. Nice mods you did there. I don't plan on driving from anything but my couch until I can afford to set up the triples cockpit. I expect that is some time away, if ever.
