Not that interesting really, but I thought I'd post the pictures up anyway... You can click each picture to make it bigger.

Let me know if you see anything you like. :) And if anything is super rare or amazing, tell us about it.

lol @ Viper ACR.

Rated at 500 ft-lbs at 3700 eh? Okay. But 500hp at 5200rpm is more than 500 ft-lbs of torque by default.

That old KE Corolla has a 4A-GE in it, from what I can tell at this hour of the night! I WANT IT!!!

While the Corvette is not very attractive(I Dont like it either) I was not amused with the "Ugly piece of American trash" line.

Cool cars and pics Chris 👍

Definately a 4AGE sitting in the KE35, it looks like someone has done a very tidy job with the conversion. I'm confused as to the Winnie the Poohs on the underside of the bonnet though, not to mention the furry seat covers.

looks like a lot of american cars filter down kiwi way, huh? no wonder we don't have any antiques left but Model A's!
the put-put (and I'm surprised you don't have more of em)is over restored. I mean, who brass's the windshield [windscreen] frame?! for some reason, that engine bay's giving me the impression it might be a steamer. at the least, that's a rich bachelor's car.

Nice, very nice,ferrari_chris 👍.Corvette was untastefully done, besides that looks like there was some really good stuff there.

Charger R/T , Cobra , Jag , get my votes. Ford Falcon GT is pretty cool also

CDznCjh.jpg

MG replica, not Thriuhhmph of any kind.

The red Charger RT is exceptionally well restored.

Did you happen to notice if the GTA was an auto? Because if it was, then it would make sense that the A stood for automatic, and came with the Select-Shift Cruise-O-Matic C4 transmission, which had a dual-range gearset and had manual-shifting capability.

The black truck is a '55 Chevy btw.
No, I didn't notice. But reading the information posted by NicksFix it seems likely. Thanks for the truck info. 👍

Cool cars and pics Chris 👍

Yeah, I thought it was odd too. Also, the owner seemed to be an old guy which was even weirder. Why is a 50y/o guy restoring/modding a Corolla? I put the pics in there specially for you though. :)

heres your answer 👍 : http://www.mustanggta.com/index.html.

I learned this today as well.
Thanks. 👍

I was 👍

That's because you aren't American.
There were quite a few Corvettes there. I'm not a fan and I don't think they're anything special or different or unusual, so I didn't bother with them. This one though, got a laugh as it was particularly ugly. It's more about the ugliness in this case rather than mocking it for being a useless car.

I laughed about it. And yeah. I'm American. 'vettes are already somewhat ugly from the rear, they had to make the front look crap too?

It's more about the ugliness in this case rather than mocking it for being a useless car.

Then was it necessary to point out that it was American? If the nationality is irrelevant, let's keep it that way. Whether the car is American, French, Australian, or whatever.

From the Kumeu Classic and Hot Rod Show 2009

I have some more pics from other shows that I'll try to put up in the next few days.
If anyone needs further bigger pics for any reason let me know.

Thanks to Chris for letting me post these up in his thread.

I just threw the pic of the shuv in for a laugh, I reckon it looked cool, slammed on the whitewalls and with the roofracks.

And now some pics from the Galaxy of Cars 2009. Rather an eclectic collection of vehicles.

Minty fresh 240Z

Mk2 Esky

A VX220, an unusual sight over here, never officially imported but I've spoken to the owner before, he bought it while living it the UK and couldn't bring himself to sell it.

Gorgeous Austin Healeys.

Wait? What? Only one Mini? At a car show? No, perish the thought.

A cool Dodge van. Would love to see one of these slammed.

Daimler SP250

A couple of Capris

A Sunbeam Imp

And a Sunbeam Stilletto

Karmann Ghia.

With a Corvair motor.

A left hooker Texas plated rust bug. I could hear people pondering on why someone would bother importing a rust ridden VW....

Mk1 Esky Wagon

A quite mental Jag XJ6. No rear seats, huge flared arches to accomodate equally ridiculous Simmons wheels. I have some other pics of it from another show for later..

The ubiquitous E Type Jaguars

As per the plate, 1957 300SL Mercedes. Took the number 1 spot in individual cars on the day.

I love Mk1 Cortinas.

A Mercedes 600

Tidy Datsun 1200 Coupe. It was leaving so I didn't get any great pics but the guy saw me taking pics and paused so at least I could grab this one.....

It's Luigi!

Ah, I knew there had to be more Minis. Here's a nice van.

And another

Ah, here's the rest of them.

Sierra Cosworth.

Audi RS2

Rear engined Renaults. Check out the rear camber on these little weapons. The blues ones are rather hot, especially the Gordini, and get driven accordingly.

A Celica coupe, I think its engine bay plays host to a 1JZGTE.

Oh no, it's Kujira!

Mazda 808, probably the only one left in NZ that hasn't been converted to rotary propulsion.

Crazy mint Mazda 1200 Ute, came 3rd on the day. You could have eaten from the engine bay.

Mazda Familia 1200 Coupe, the piston engined version of the R100.

Toyota Corona Coupe.

We have lots in Australia too, the old old vintage stuff (hot rods) were all sold here but the muscle cars were imported. In the 70's and 80's they were imported like crazy, even in the 90's (my father used to import them also)

We have soooo many 60's mustangs it is not funny, I always think "One day the americans will ship them back".

Those New Zealand car show pics look just the same as Australia shows :)

And now the Ellerslie Concours 2009. Excuse the poor photos, conditions weren't great + loads of people swarming the cars.

Ferrari Dino

Previously mentioned Jaguar XJ6.

BMW E34 535i

BMW E28 535i M

BMW E39 M5

BMW 530D M5 lookalike

BMW 635i M

BMW 1502

Lancia sports car. Anyone confirm the model?

Renault Clio V6

Renault Sports Spiders

Ford Escort Twin Cam

Ford Escort RS1600

Janspeed Turbo RS2000

Ford Cosworths

This thing is madness, genuine RS500 with a Brodie Brittain Racing motor, Gaz suspension, big AP brakes, 425hp on a 14psi tune, something like 560hp has been seen.

VW Variant.

Nice Karmann Ghia

VW Golf Gti 16V

VW Golf Gti Mk1s

Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche 911 Turbo

Porsche 930

There were a few Porsches there.

Holden Toranas

Lotus Elise S2

Lotus Espirit Sport 350

Lotus Elite

AC Ace

Remember the Sti ATV? Bow before the reincarnation.

TVR Griffiths

TVR Sagaris

Aston Martin DBS

C1 Corvette

Lotus Exige S1, looked fairly hardcore, you can't really tell but everything in black is CF.

And this BMW 3.0 in the parking lot as I was leaving....
