hi mates

just bought gt5 yesterday and i couldnt be more disapointed.
im used to playing modded shift 2 and gtr2 on pc with my g27 and when i tried gt5 3/4 of the downshifts using heel&toe results in mis-shifts.
to be honest it seems my accord diesel in real life has better gearbox/clutch than the model in gt5.
are there any extra settings to work around it?
just dont tell me i have to release the throttle all the way cos i know from real life driving i dont.

Welcome to :gtpflag:

It's a quite known fact that the clutch and gear system in GT5 is a bit flawed. Nothing to do about it other than trying to do the best with what you got.

Welcome to the site. :D

But like Phoenix said, it's not the best Gearbox re-creation out there by any means.

well now i know after experiencing it and googling it after.

what i cant understand is if its well known (since 2011) why isnt it fixed yet? cant be hard to do, so the dev doesnt want to for whatever reason.

ive read its due to abuse of flatshifts but its ok to flatshift using paddles.

well theres also guilt on my part not doing research before the purchase.

Welcome to gtplanet. ;)

I know exactly what you're talking about, But you'll eventually get the hang of it like I did.
I eventually just turned the transmission to automatic and concentrated on my breaking and steering in corners skills to improve my time.
What I enjoy about this game the most is the attention to detail on the cars, tracks, and the real feel of the steering feedback so don't let one little hiccup ruin your experience with the fun you can have racing and challenging yourself in all of the events, special events, license tests, and leveling up you can do.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you might actually like gt5 if you give it a shot.

They won't fix it because of GT6, I use pad though, so it's not a problem for me :sly:
