here is my version of a GT4 cockpit. inspired from the look of a jet ski. i like woodworking more than i do playing GT4 so thats why i built it. didn't get very far in the game as of the moment, but that should change soon. thanks for taking a look.

just click on the link below the pic to see it in full size...

Nice work! I like the "tach" clock. You may want to look into the "Cheap cockpit" thread - try a thread title search, limited to the GT4 board, and see if it turns up.

Welcome to GTPlanet!

It looks nice. I bet it can hold a few beers on it when racing! 👍
I've seen similar table designs - a cleaned engine mounted vertically with a glass on top...

Nice job my fellow racer!

And being the STINGER, I couldn't help noticing the wasp (or hornet) on the side with the sting out :dopey: .....good job and further happy racing! 👍 👍 :)

Nice! Love the clock tach too, pretty creative of ya to do that. 👍
Hows the weight on that thing though? Pretty heavy, or easy to move out of the way for when its not in use?

Isn't that hornet what used to be on the Jordan F1 cars???

Nice setup BTW! :) 👍

I like it, i wish i had a)the talent b) the space and c)the time to build one of those. I think that evertime someone shows of their custom gt4 rig.

Ruffest - was the table design you saw on BBC top gear that jeremy built out of a Porsche 928 V8 engine, that looked really cool and so did the seats :D

Robin - OT but what's a midway sig?

Oh man I neeed a cockpit so bad. This swivel chair and tray table just aren't cuting it.

what's a midway sig?

half way between tinysig and HUGE SIG.

Let me explain. their is a thread around hear that started a club of people with miniscule signatures and they put "tinysig-smaller is better" in their sig's. naturaly with a movement comes an anti movement and then you have the fence riders. 👍

I made it not funny now, didn't I :guilty: Too much reason kills humor. :indiff:

Uhh, it's tidy not tiny sig.

Real nice craftmanship there. You should put up some examples of DIY kits, maybe dimensions and tools required.

I seem to recall seing "tinysig" around here somewhere. Maby it was a joke, something akin to people with banned or band for their user title. 💡

grateful for all the positive comments everyone.

OzRacer: the FF shakes the steering column somewhat in the beginning when it is self calibrating. other than that, its fairly sturdy. the floating arm is probably not the best design if my primary goal was sturdyness. but i guess was more interested in the looks of it first. suprisingly enough, it's still pretty strong.

SRV2LOW4ME: the whole thing takes up a good amount of space as you can see in the additional pics. i have wheels on it so i just roll it out of the way when not in use. i also have wire covers so that i dont have to disconnect it each time, and also so i wont trip and break something...

Robin 2223: yeah, the sticker is from the Jordan MUGEN honda team. i actually bought these a few years back hoping to put them on my civic. but then my car was slowly dismantled by theft after theft. so i guess this is a safer place to put'em.

xcsti: i suppose if enough people were interested in the blueprints,, i could redraw it in photoshop. as of the moment though, my blueprints were drawn on pieces of paper while on the train ride to work....

I am very interested in seeing the blue prints of your cockpit. it is my favorite one on here and want to build one for my DFP.

Please enlighten us with the prints. :)

was wondering if the blueprints are a work in progress? Please let us know. I sat down for an hour drawing essentially what I see in the pics. Just lacking measurements and angles.

thanks

Good Sir,
Your talents are to be commended! Most exquisite! My personal cockpit consists of a leather ottoman, and a TV tray, (That is toppled quite frequently), and an ashtray for my pipe. Most primitive compared to your fine driving station,
Yours In Awe

Ok, AntzLexusIS, this guy hasn't been on in forever, and he probably isn't going to give you the blueprints. Check the date.

Also, I love the way you post Fangio.

@RJ: yeah, I giggled at that too. Some of the gravedigging you see around here is hilarious. On a semi-related note, I've been thinking about looking through the Tuning forum to bump a few older threads to push back some of the 'how does I get Black Beauties?' and 'how does I enter GTWC?' threads. I noticed ETZ was bumped off the front page about a month ago because of these crap threads and that made me really mad. I figure if I go through the list and bump 1-2 interesting threads per week it should reduce the amount of crap on the front page. Any thoughts anyone?

That actually sounds like an okay plan.

Orrite, if I get bored and find a good thread can I PM you the link for a second opinion? It would be worse than futile to bump a crap thread or a question that has been resolved.

Come to think of it, I could just do a search for 'find all threads started by Parnelli'. That would save heaps of time cause I can't remember Parnelli ever posting anything extraneous, illiterate or stupid.
