During the Red Wing's 2-1 loss at home last night, Red Wings LW Drew Miller was injured after his face was cut by a skate. It was a scary moment for sure, but it easily could have been worse than it is. He has been practicing and has stated that he wants to play in the next Wings game despite nearly losing his eye in the incident.

Ouch! That sounds awful. Glad to hear that he's okay. It's never a good thing when any player/athlete gets injured, not matter what team they are on

When I think of brutal injuries involving being cut by skates, the image that forever will haunt me was when Richard Zednik got slashed in the neck back in 2008 from a teammates' skate. Hope for the best for Drew Miller. I'm sure that had to hurt.

On a much lighter note, I failed to mention who all are in the Playoffs heading into tonight's games. So here are the ones who are IN at this point:

--- WHO'S IN! - EASTERN ---
* Montreal
* Tampa Bay
* New York Rangers

--- WHO'S IN! - WESTERN ---
* Nashville
* Anaheim

More spots will be filled once all the games have been played out. There's still a great chance for many teams to make the playoffs. That is... unless you're Buffalo or Arizona or somebody. As of this post, PHI at PIT will go at it coming up at the top of the hour.

Are you ready for tonight? 9 games in total around the league. On tap for you tonight are:

NY Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets
Washington Capitals @ Montreal Canadiens
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Ottawa Senators
Boston Bruins @ Detroit Red Wings
Carolina Hurricanes @ Florida Panthers
Calgary Flames @ St. Louis Blues
NY Rangers @ Minnesota Wild
Vancouver Canucks @ Chicago Blackhawks
Edmonton Oilers @ Los Angeles Kings

Bruins at Red Wings... a good old Original Six game. Two teams with loads of history. Detroit is ahead of Boston in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. I'm sure Detroit will have to win to keep Boston pinned down.

The Rangers at Wild... this is almost basically a must-win for Minnesota to keep their playoff hopes intact. NYR's going to the playoffs. All Minnesota needs to do is hold serve at home to help their cause. They have a Wild Card spot at present, leading the Western Wild Card, but the Wild REALLY need this one.

"Must win" for the Wild tonight? Nah. Would it help our cause to beat the Hawks if we won tonight, yeah of course. 2 points always help, but the Wild already have a Wild Card spot. We are up against the team we want in the Preds. Am I looking forward to this game? Oh yeah.
The 2 teams with the best record since the All-Star Break, 2 teams in the top 10 in PK, 5on5 scoring, and 2 of only 5 teams in the top 12 for both scoring and defense.
This is a much different Wild to the team that gave up 5 in the 3rd for the Rangers to win, back in October

EDIT: Pretty lousy game by the Wild as they lose to the Rangers 3-2. Not very impressed. We really have a lot to work on before Saturday. Being off for 4 days means you get a bit rusty and it really showed throughout the entire game.

Ready for playoffs? To help bring in the Easter weekend here are tonight's games:

Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Columbus Blue Jackets
Vancouver Canucks @ Winnipeg Jets
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins
Washington Capitals @ Ottawa Senators
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Florida Panthers
Buffalo Sabres @ NY Islanders
New Jersey Devils @ NY Rangers
Detroit Red Wings @ Minnesota Wild
Dallas Stars @ Nashville Predators
San Jose Sharks @ Arizona Coyotes
Calgary Flames @ Edmonton Oilers
Colorado Avalanche @ Los Angeles Kings

Good luck to all of your teams tonight! :)

Man... that's a lot of games for tonight! And to those who are wondering, the Detroit Red Wings have one of the best records in any of the four major American sports- over 20+ years making the postseason. So to see Detroit fail to make the playoffs this season will snap a more than 20+ season streak of making the playoffs.

Of those games... oh, look! It's an inner-forum rivalry: a AnthonyD1993 vs. RedDragon special- Red Wings at Wild. Have at it, gentlemen! :D

I'll just shut up and let the team do the talking. Of course, with the recent play of the Wings, it'll probably be a loss....

Dallas and the Blues set a new NHL record for the most goals in one minute on Friday. It all started in the last 10 seconds of first period when Travis Moen earned and converted a penalty shot, making the score 1-1. In the second, St. Louis scored twice at :15 and :32 with goals by Berglund and Schwartz respectively. Dallas finally got one back at :38 with a goal by our captain Jamie Benn.

With both starting goalies still in the game, the Blues eventually won the game 7-5, even though we had Benn on hat trick watch.

Absolutely disgusting game by the Wild. I have no idea what the 🤬 happened. Just 🤬 embarrassing. It looked closer to pre-Dubnyk play at some points of the game. Honestly, he was a big reason they were in with a shot. They were on the back foot basically the entire game. I am at a loss for words right now.

Nice job to your Wings @AnthonyD1993 They deserved that win for sure.👍

I'm not going to lie- I had to do a double take after seeing that the Helm shot that got ruled as the game winner. The refs sucked as well- missed calls everywhere on both teams, and Detroit played like garbage for several stretches in the game. Detroit desperately needed the points, though. That might give us a fighting chance to keep in the hunt for the playoffs.

@AnthonyD1993 Eh, there was a goal like that called in our favour in the shoot-out against the Islanders. Cosmic balancing is my guess on that:dopey: The bad refs thing is a norm at Wild games, you get used to them missing calls both ways:crazy: Anyway, yeah, nice job on getting the points. I just looked and saw the standings, and yeah, y'all needed the W badly.

Now we just have to hold off the Jets to make sure we play the Preds 1st round:mischievous:

Well, Nashville just lost to Dallas, keeping our playoff hopes alive in the process, due to a penalty shot in OT. Dallas has had two penalty shots in the last two games, and converted both.

The biggest loss of all today was that of former Canadiens player Elmer Lech. He played all 14 seasons of his career with the Montreal Canadiens. E. Lach was 97 years old and was the oldest living former NHL player at the time. More information on him:

My thoughts and prayers go out in loving memory of Elmer Lach and all whom have known and loved him.

Heading into tonight's five games, here are the teams currently in the Playoffs:

(! = clinched division, !! = clinched conference)

Who's In!
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
* Montreal
* Tampa Bay
* New York Rangers!
* Washington

WESTERN CONFERENCE:
* St. Louis
* Nashville
* Chicago
* Anaheim!

Tonight's games are as follows:
* CAR Hurricanes at BUF Sabres
* COL Blue Jackets at NYR Rangers
* WPG Jets at MIN Wild
* LA Kings at VAN Canucks
* DAL Stars at SJ Sharks

Time is running out as playoff spots are still being filled up. Especially if in the Wild Card race, there's not much time left. I think the Playoffs begin on April 15, so this is the final full week of regular season NHL Hockey.

Good luck to all of your teams.

And of course the needed picture. If playoffs were to start today, here's how they would all line up:

The most important game tonight is obviously Wild-Jets:dopey: A regulation or overtime victory guarantees the the Wild go to the post-season no matter what while, a shoot-out W means that the Kings have to lose something or other to be sure of playoff contention.

Either way, it's almost playoff season in the NHL! :bowdown:

--EDIT-- Bad reffing in Wild games is normal, but it's half-way through the 1st and already the Jets have gotten away with blatant Tripping and a High Sticking right in front of a ref!

-EDIT 2-- 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Jets:censored:🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬:banghead:

Oh man, i haven't posted here in a while.

My Bruins are in the play-offs... at least i hope so. :P

However the Western conference wild card spots are still a mystery. Myself personally, I want to see the Kings miss the play-offs and Jets and Flames to make it. Winnipeg having the worst ROW (regulation + overtime wins) they need more points than Flames or Kings, Flames having the best at 39 and then the Kings with 37. So with all teams tied Flames and Kings make it.

Busy night tonight, with 7 games on in the push for playoffs. Here's whats on tap for y'all tonight:

NY Rangers @ New Jersey Devils
NY Islanders @ Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Ottawa Senators
Carolina Hurricanes @ Detroit Red Wings
Winnipeg Jets @ St. Louis Blues
Nashville Predators @ Colorado Avalanche
Arizona Coyotes @ Calgary Flames
Los Angeles Kings @ Edmonton Oilers

Your NBC game for tonight is:
Minnesota Wild @ Chicago Blackhawks

2 points. That's all the Wild need. 2 freaking points!

I'm actually kind of happy Winnipeg won as I hate the Kings and want them to miss the playoffs.

The Stars are mathematically eliminated from the postseason when Winnipeg beat the Wild before the Stars beat San Jose 5-1.

Stars could be so good if they had a consistently good goalie.

Sens comeback against the Pens!!! Go Sens gooooooo.

It was a defensive struggle for 40 minutes in Chicago between the Minnesota Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks. Then the 3rd Period happened. Then wild Wild scoring happened. Then Chicago striking back happened. Then Minnesota winning 2-1 at Chicago happened. Wild Nation, rejoice! Your boys got it done in Chi-Town.

2-1 victory over the Blackhawks means that the Minnesota Wild stamp a play-off ticket! YES! YES! YES! YES! Yahoo! Fantastic job after Devan Dubnyk comes in in the middle of the season with the Wild dead in the water and helps to lift them back up into contention. Goals by Granlund and Zucker, with Zucker's coming in his first game back after missing 27 with a broken clavicle

The Red Wings beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2. If The Penguins defeated the Sens in regulation, the Wings would have clinched a playoff. Alas, it wasn't ment to be as the Penguins managed to blow a 3-0 lead and lose 4-3 in OT. Now Detroit has to try to beat the Habs, and they've had our number all year. Great.

It's the final Wednesday Night Rivalry of the 2014-2015 season. Tonight, it's the Boston Bruins at the Washington Capitals. Other games for tonight include the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dallas Stars at the Anaheim Ducks.

Playoff update. Who's in? Here are the current playoff locks:

Who's In! - East:
* Montreal
* Tampa Bay
* New York Rangers (Presidents' Trophy winners)
* Washington
(4 more slots to be determined)

Who's In! - West:
* St. Louis
* Nashville
* Chicago
* Anaheim
* Vancouver
* Minnesota
(2 more slots to be determined)

Time is running out. Will your team(s) make it to compete for Lord Stanley's Cup? Good luck to all of your teams.
