All about 2012-2013 season. I know season 2011-2012 is still going but there is max 2 games left. All about the rookies/draft/trades/off-season signings and stuff.

Määttä and Teräväinen will be the first two draft picks, I just know that.

Those are both Fins aren't they?

I haven't really paid attention to the draft so far other than a massive hope we get a good return for Luongo :)

Jackpot, but it's got two n's, like "Finns", you know guys? :indiff:

Fin is a fish's body part. :sly:

Luongo to Florida, Edmonton? Luongo and Bieksa/Ballard/Edler for Edmontos first? I hope Suter signs with the Wings because they lost Lidström and Stuart. Wings could use Semin as well. I hope Bruins gets a d-man and top-6 forward.

Teräväinen and Määttä will be top-10 and Yakupov and Grigorenko 1-2? There is alot of good d-men in the draft.

 I do know that, that was auto correct I swear.

Bieksa won't be going anywhere, Ballard maybe but that's a worse contract than Luongo's so I highly doubt them as a package. I think it will be Luongo and possibly a draft pick for something but I have no idea what he is worth right now.

Trading away Cody Hodgson was just really stupid! Sedins are getting old what about when they retire? Why can re-place them? Kesler and Burrows? I doubt it.

Yeah it was but I watched an interview and he said he wasn't happy being on the Canucks and would rather play for the Sabers.

Wasn't stupid. If a guy doesn't want to play for your team, has bad history with the coach and training staff and wants out you don't keep that guy in your dressing room.

You can't always play for the long term with the Salary Cap anymore. You have to go all out for it in a small window you get. Our windows is from last year to next year. If it doesn't happen next year it doesn't matter with Kessler or the Sedins. Also Kessler and Sedin will be #1, #2 centers for years to come and so how to you keep him at #3. Also everybody agrees the Canucks need toughness. I'm fairly sure when you look up tough and gritty in the dictionary you find Kassian written there.

Hodgson was a spoilt kid who thought he should have a spot and ice time handed to him. Tell me how much did he produce playing with "better line mates" in Buffalo after the trade? If I remember right he had a double digits pointless drought.

Yeah, idk in a vacuum Kassian for Hodgson is probably a slight overpayment, but Kassian projects as a tough, top 6 power forward, and those guys are in short supply.

As for my Canadiens, I'd like to see them take a run at Matt Carle. Carle-Subban and then Markov-Gorges is a good top 4. I hope they can pick Grigorenko too.

Lightning get G Lindbäck from Nashville and F Kyle Wilson and a seventh round pick for two seconds, a third and G Sebastien Caron. Is this finally the goalie TB needs?

I don't think Burke will trade Lupul. I'm pretty sure Bernier is a free agent too.

He is not UFA he is RFA so they need to give draft picks and i dont think they want to. Lupul would be good to trade because he got injured last season so if he gets injure again his value drops. He had like 70points so he have value now. Im pretty sure that Burke will make a big big trade! Like Kessel for Ovie well not like that but big as that.

I'm just waiting for the Leafs to sgin Jonathan Bernier.

Yeah as was said he is an RFA so they have to give him an offer sheet with a contract that he can sign. The Kings can then match that contract and then they keep him or if the Kings sign him first the offer sheet isn't valid anyway. Also if the Leafs did send the offer sheet and if the Kings don't match it then you have to give up draft picks based on the salary. With how much he would make it would probably be atleast a 1st which well we saw what happens when you trade away a 1st... Yes Kessel I'm looking at you.

Honestly the Leafs best hope and best option for a goalie is Luongo. If your already willing to throw away a 1st on a backup goalie then why not throw in a prospect and get a proven #1 with a gold medal around his neck.

They can go for Bobrovsky Philly got Bryz or they can go for Lehner from Ottawa, he is HUGE.

Again though neither of those guys are proven number ones and can't even be compared in the slightest with Luongo. Two different classes of goalies there.

I think they should take the risk they really need to make the playoffs. Luongo is too expensive.

Not really. 5.33 cap hit is a bargain. The 6.7 salary is a bit high, but the Leafs basically have unlimited money.

Yea they got money but not cap space. Phaneuf, Lupul, Komisarek, Connoly all these guys they got. They should make the team younger and cheaper.

They have enough space, they've got 13.5M of space, and only Kulemin to re sign as a big money player. The rest of their free agents are a bunch of plugs and goalies (who can be let go if you have Luongo and Reimer)

Still, i think they wanna keep that 10mill for free agents. (I calculated that Kulie would want about 3mill) Who knows who is in market. CANT WAIT!

[Edit]: Or maybe they will make a big trade for the 1st overall pick? Free up some cap space at the same time.

First pick isn't moving unless hell freezes over and the free agent pool is appalling this year. The few that are out there the Leafs aren't guaranteed to get because at this point they don't look like an extremely attractive option.

The easiest way for the Leafs to improve right away outside of signing Parise or Suter (pipe dream for either) is to add Luongo. Say what you want, he's still a top 10 goalie in my mind. The other option would be to go after Semin but Burke's an idiot and a bigot so that won't happen.

Thomas, Rask, Quick, Schneider, Howard, Elliott, Halak, Miller, Price, Brodeur, Lundqvist, Smith, Rinne there is 13 goalies that are better than Luongo.
