It is "officially" a production car - Nissan made sure of that. It was even stated at a Best MOTORing video which had one of these bad boys v.s. a group load of NSX-R (5 to be exact). This GTR ripped all of the NSX-R easily. Corner and straight - it dominated. One hell of a video too. :) It started way in the back as a camera car and at the end of 5 laps it easily passed the leading NSX-R on the straight.

Also there are other sites that I have read - that calls it a "production" car. At the end of the day - it is a production car. Now you may have a difference of opinion because it is very limited or whatever - but that doesn't change the fact that it is a production car.

"Owned" - That's funny.

It's simple. Nismo BUILT the cars from scratch after tearing them apart right? The car rolled off the hand built assembly line with what 0 MILES on the ODO...It doesnt have to be Mass produced to be a Production car. 20 Were made and then it was discontinued. The fact that it was sold to the public and it had 0 km/miles on the odo = Production car. And if you have enough money, you can buy ANYTHING
Not always the case, mileage isn't the defining factor, it's how the car was built. The fact that there cars werere built up to Z-Tune spec before being registered as R34 GT-R's in the first place is what makes it a production car. Production cars brand new are sold with miles on the clock, they get driven at the dealers and sometimes if they get moved to another dealer they get driver to it, not always transported. But they get miles from the valet parking every day while they're at the showroom and from test drives. I know thats not a reply to what you said exactley, but I just felt like saying it.

Yeah I saw that BMI it was the the new Fugi track, the Z tune held back most the way as it was a camera car but then at the end just flew past them all :D.
