I kept pushing until I reached 1:41,985 only one second less to get gold, this event is tough, and with no paint chip or money reward, I'll stop lapping for now, and do something else more rewarding.

Solid car, but it have massive undeesteer, that's not Good, but the car at his self it's good looking.... I'm on 38.XX I thing, but there's much to improve tho!

So far, for me GTI vision is the best jet!

Decided to give this another go since I wasn't happy with my time.

Now on a 1:36.6. Easily a 1:36.0 in there though, maybe even into the high 1:35s.

I gave myself another try of this seasonal event to see what kind of time I would get if I try to push it and 1:39.687 is my time. This car is about as responsive as a f1 car.

Strange-handling car but love the sound. Found this a lot harder to gold than the Aston though. You just need to nail a pretty smooth lap making up time at the usual places on this track. Get the first few corners down nicely, then sweep through the fast semi-chicane as quickly as possible, cut those tight but wide two right-handers just after then floor it at the final twisty section, giving the left-hander before the final corner the usual respect, though there is a tendency towards weird snap oversteer here too.

I found the final corner to be most important, at least for me. I finally found the extra second I needed for gold just by taking it wide so I could be on throttle a lot earlier.

The car seems pretty nice to me. It kind of reminds me of a Veyron, but more grippy because it has softer tires than I usually have on the Bugatti.

I agree, I was ahead of The guy in first by over a tenth coming to the last corner and lost it all :P

It was a 1:42.852 I pulled around the lovely Akasaka district of Tokyo in the Nissan Concept 2020. This car seems to want to kill you any chance it gets. Even racing around the streets of Tokyo in a powerful machine like this is bloody insane. And don't even think about looking behind you in the interior view. I would have had better luck seeing from the back of the Lamborghini Miura in the interior view than I do with this thing! I pulled off the 1:42 lap time after two foul/invalidated laps that were in the 1:45 range. I ended up getting me the car in Lava Red. I can't pass up a lovely blue, but I also like red. It is natural to be intimidated by the barriers on either side of the track, but you have to try to drive fearlessly with a car I've described as one that tries to kill you every chance it gets. Power gets delivered quickly with this Nissan, so make sure to compensate for this by finding the best line around Tokyo R246 and adjusting your driving skill to both the car and the track.

Give it a go. It recharges under coasting and braking and is used up by hitting the N20 button. I was able to hit 203mph on the main straight and brake in time for the first corner, so it's pretty potent.

thank you for this tip, now I have to enable and remap this button to my T500 wheel, I never once bothered with Nos in this game to date. are there any other Hybrid cars that employ this?

this was my favorite city track in GT5 for Ferrari F1 cars, so this TT felt right at home to me. I finished gold by .10, disabling every single aid as always in GT6 for total control and consistency from my own inputs regardless if I can't ever get the best possible time out there. I can live with being in the top 15~20% when it comes to virtual racing, given I only play this at most 1 hour per day on average.

I must comment that I overcame the vast majority of people here saying that the 2020VGT looked horrendous, I must say, I think it drives and looks pretty fantastic, whereas that Aston may look nice, it handles and drives worse than most 1985 sedans I've driven. that understeer into corners.. I don't know how the designers of that car must be sleeping at night this week.

Meh...I can't really manage the slide you need to be fast around the track with this car.
Have to get more speed through the corner to improve, I think. Everything after Turn 4 is just a blur. I watched all the Top Replays, but I cant do it myself. I'll try again tomorrow!

This car's weird looks are in perfect harmony with its weird handling. What is going on with the low speed oversteer? In any case, I'm currently at 1:38.011, so would like to get into the 1:37's before calling it quits with this TT. Hopefully I'll have some free time tomorrow.

To me this is the worst handling car I have driven outside of the Stratos. As someone said it is like the car is trying to kill you. To me the Aston Martin is a much better car though the Nissan does have a nice sound. Tokyo is one of my favorite tracks and has been throughout the GT progression. I was sure I could gold this one but it was not to be, I silvered both events which is enough for me. No good prize worth putting the time into either event. To all of you that got gold my hat is off to ya'll. I did try the KERS thing it lights up when you hit the NOS button but goes off immediately. Got the free car and a nice purple paint chip.

Wow, I didn't know about the KERS button ! Sounds interesting, will try.

And it's even more interesting to see how different people love or hate a car. :P

To me, I feel the motor's whine is a bit tiring after a while. And the handling feels a bit odd, seems somewhat artificial or sticky in operation (not the same as grippy). Visually, I don't feel it's fast when accelerating, but it gives quite good overall lap time. Maybe it's good in fluent progress by the wide and flat power band and balanced handling, instead of brutal force...

As to the track, I found the key positions are turn 6, 7, & 10, at least for me. The risk or reward at these turns makes huge influence to the lap time. And the good old slow-in/fast-out works the best for me over here. :)

Can anybody shed some light on the KERS button? I drive a Fanatec Carrera Wheel, and I tried pressing the exact same button on it that triggers the NOS System. Nothing lights up or turns on etc.
Do I have to map that button extra? I thought it was deactivated for the seasonal? Im confused...

The "KERS" doesn't work for this TT, but you're able to use it in a regular lobby, etc. :)

The KERS must be functional on this TT because I improved by 1sec to 1:37.578 currently, with another .500 still possible for me. All other factors remained pretty constant (DS3 default setup, ABS:1 TC: off, same racing line) but my LB ghost lines were pulling away on any straight portion of the track until I started using the NOS button.

The Placobo Effect at work.

Most definitely the placebo effect. If you take the car out for a Test Drive from the Garage or do an Arcade Mode Time Trial you will see and feel the difference pressing the NOS button makes. Pay attention to the tachometer and you will see the needle move faster with the pressing of the button. The same is not true during this Time Trial.

reading through the thread makes me feel relieved. I thought this one is VERY HARD to gold. After few tries, I manage to got Bronze (very close to a silver time). I probably will improve after learning both the track and the car better. The other VGT event is relatively easier than this one.

I was having a hard time getting a gold until I finally realized that as soon as you hit the brake it cuts the throttle...I shaved a second and a half off my time on the first time back out with this knowledge and got the gold, I'm sure I could get a even better time If I tried some more but I was irritated and stopped as soon as I got the gold, If your bored you could switch to automatic push the throttle to the floor and hold it there and drive around the track using the brake only...and the steering wheel of course.

Wow.. Left rear just touched the final wall and crossed the line +0.003 behind -.-

I would rather do this on my regular account but I don't want to spam the leaderboard with two accounts

I thought the same about this TT, that it was very hard to control and other stuff, but keep going and use the amazing traction and downforce this concept provides, it helps a lot around the fast corners of this city circuit. I just started to stop relying on the ABS and golded this event at ABS 0, it was very fun! Oh, and the KERS is not active by the way.

Just keep on lapping!

I'm a bad Driver (well, not THAT bad), but it really took my last nerve to get Gold here!
You're right, driving in Automatic mode, you can hold down the throttle (nearly) ALL THE WAY THROUGH, doing acceleration and slow down just with VERY LIGHTLY touching the brake pedal!
And it's quicker to use the good old slow in/fast out Approach (especially in turn 1).
It is a mistake to brake for the chicanes, the quicker you attack them, the less likely it will be you touch the barriers!
And something else:
I experimented with many, many different Settings, but the quickest for me turned out to be:
Switch OFF ALL helpers (Traction Control, Automatic Stability Control etc.), BUT SWITCH ABS TO 10 (yes: TEN!!!)!
That gave me a 1:40,672 finally.
And now I only can say:
SAYONARA TOKIO!
:banghead:
