Nissan cuts 9,000 jobs as its vehicles fail to sell

Shame the Z is not the halo car I felt it was.
Unfortunately dealers in America ruined that and they've only sold a few. I saw one the other day in Dayton and it definitely grabs attentino but it very rare. Nissan is also terrible at marketing anything besides crossovers. They have no racing presence in North America either - despite the car being on sale for two years they are not racing it in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (GT4). Does it even exist beyond the prototype? I have no idea.

It was raced by a team in GT4 America. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think a Z won a race at Sebring. Flying Lizard run one for this year.
Now, part of NISMO's global sports, the majority of GT4 Z's only race in Super Taikyu.

Somehow you know more about American race series than I do. You're right.

However, Nissan isn't competing in SRO GT4 at all in 2025. Speaking of SRO, I must be a bad motorsports fan but I wasn't even aware of their calendar. The SRO's GT3 and Pirelli GT4 America support series is basically competing directly with IMSA and its Michelin Pilot Challenge. Might actually be easier for a foreigner to watch SRO than me, but I know when and where to watch IMSA (and WEC) on Peacock (and HBO) and on Youtube obviously. Not a clue what sort of broadcast deals SRO has. The LMH/GTP cooperation between WEC and IMSA further takes the spotlight away from SRO.

Mainly GT World on YouTube will have most GT races. The SRO GT3/GT4 Australia series will be broadcast on free to air tv. I hope all Australia races will be available on YouTube for me to view.

All SRO races are streamed, for free, on the GT World YouTube channel. IMSA could learn something from them in this regard.

Also, Flying Lizard is still racing their Z GT4 this year in GT4 America. But they are the only entry.

TechSport Racing ran 2 last year, a couple of my buddies are on the team. However, I think they have dropped out of the GT4 class altogether. They are participating in the Toyota GR Cup, Mustang Challenge, and are entering the McLaren Trophy with their new Artura. I haven't had a chance to ask why they dropped the Z, but I suspect it was probably not worth their effort anymore, unfortunately.
