I think its hot and is the new direction in cars for the future. The older skylines still rock will be timeless, but the new breed is upon us and I think the ones that started it all was the Audi TT.
Nissans 350z is much like the TT and even this skyline favors the TT in its concept.
Japan has always found a way to take european lines and inject them into their own and have done a nice job of it.
The 240zx was a direct result of the Jaguar xke and many examples abound.
Nice Skyline though and wouldnt mind owning it to own you. lol :D

Yeah - that is sad. No way to coax it over the new Japanese emissions rules, apparently.

Grrr Emissions, at this rate, one day we'll all be driving round in a 0.000000 Toxic Gases :rain: car that travel at 2mph and gets there in an hour........ :fdevil:

Its got a futureistc look about it and i like the fact that they r thinking change, but its front end is hella big its got to go!!! I still like the : 95' R33 SKYLINE GT-R the best.

This has got to be the best looking Skyline for ages. No Skyline has ever looked really nice. They started out as sooped up family saloons and ended up looking like a Ricer's wet dream.
At least this looks like a designer had a concept from the start.

Wow the poll is equal for like it/don't like it :rscared:

Looks like the majority of people either love it or hate it......

I have to say that this is a new and exciting design, anyone agree?

The new G35 by Infinity is supposed to be the current replacement for the skyline here in America.
This is probably a prototype and will be the newest rendition of the Skyline series.
Btw, as much as I like the new G35 (skyline), it just loses all of its personality coming over the waters to the U.S. .
With all the regulations and tariffs, the car is just a shadow of itself and really is weak. :(
I hope this design goes into effect though.

Isn't Nissan splitting the Skyline and GT-R -- literally? The Skyline is becoming a "sporty sedan" and "sport coupe" (and known as the G35 and G35 Coupe in the U.S.) while the GT-R will be the car we discuss here. This grey&black concept will not be called a Skyline at all. This is why this concept is so radically different from the G35/2003 Skyline. Correct me if I'm wrong....

Well Hooligan I really hope that doesn't happen... They can't get rid of the Skyline :gtr: Surely??

Personally, I don't care *what* they call it, as long as it's a hell of a car. Still:

pub33.ezboard.com/fautomobileonlinefrm4.showMessage?topicID=250.topic

Could be worse. Nissan might have decided to follow Mitsubishi's plan and become a severely boring auto maker (i.e., slowly eliminating all the "fun" cars).

If the G35 (which my dad is going to buy sometime soon hopefully) is supposed to be the american version of the skyline, then what is the :infinity: M45 supposed to replace/be?

The ugly car. Isn't it somewhere in Nissan's mission statement that there is to be at least one ugly car in their lineup to be considered a truly Japanese auto maker? ;)

It seems to be a re-working of the Altima V6 (if the I35 is the Maxima). Not a *good* reworking, mind you. It looks like the 350Z and Mercury Grand Marquis had a kid who got dropped at birth...twice.

Yep, apparently.

Personally I don't find the G35 too revolting - and I don't know why! It isn't beautiful but I find myself 'drawn' to the design - much like the AllRoad Quattro.

I like the G35. It just seems "right"; all-of-a-peice somehow. I think the 2-door will be better, even more coherent and consistent with the hood and trunk lines. The other two doors seem to get in the way.

And I have experience with things that are coherent -- or, rather, incoherent: the Ford Focus dashboard. For three weeks I was forced to look at that monstrosity. Everything stood out like a sore thumb. It astounded me every time I sat down.

Yeah - I've seen just one pic of the new two-door and everything was beautiful in it. I guess it was 'destined' to become a coupe!

Hmmm - speaking of Focus, there's a design! ;) Actually I kind of agree with you about the dash, but I don't know - have you ever been in an Aztek!?

I love the Focus ZX5 - talk about brilliance! Odd thing is that Ford seems intent on destroying Mazda's sales. Before the Vibe and Matrix, the only two vehicles in that segment were the Protege5 and Focus ZX5.

Not yet, but I'm not looking forward to it either. :-/

I guess in their segment, the cars are great. I just don't like that market. Not that I can really afford much more. I can barely afford what I have. I just have higher aspirations. ;)
