Shame about this, because the Kia Picanto is killing it here. This new Micra would probably get young people back in the showroom.

An engine option with a 3-digit power figure has got me even more interested in the Micra, the Sport model looks very nice too! 👍

I wonder why Nissan are using two unique variants of a turbocharged 1 litre engine, I guess the IG-T unit could be replaced by a DIG-T in a sub-100hp state of tune later down the line.

In all the years of this new Micra being out I don't think I have ever seen one on the road.

I know two people in my local area who drive a new Micra, though it may also help there is a Nissan dealership on my doorstep! 💡

 I'm sure you will also see a fair few in Sunderland :sly:

I don't know why it hasn't exactly been a hit here, I guess that segment is massively oversaturated.

The main thing holding the Micra back is its name; people wouldn't perceive it as a viable alternative to class-leading cars like the Fiesta or Polo. Plus there is the upcoming Renault Clio V which shares its platform featuring a more upmarket appearance, more buyers may be lured by the French counterpart as a result.

It may not be such a common sight, but it must at least be doing better than the K13 sales wise.

Another issue is its kind of associated with the elderly and hasn't been able to kick that image for decades. That demographic seems to have moved onto small Kia's and Hyundai's.
