Whoa, I wasn't commenting on driving skill or anything of that nature, either.

I was simply noting that it's easier to lock up with Sports hard tires then with Racing hard, thus the comment about being prone to smoking.

Okay. Sorry, I was just explaining, since, when you posted that, I thought that you were accusing me of being a bit... mean, towards the driver of the GT-R. That wasn't at all my intention.

My intention, was an explanation of the general differences in the lighting/contrast/filter. I used a bright, happy, "woo-hoo, I didn't flat-spot/damage the tires" filter, because I only noticed that I locked my brakes up during the replay. However, the GT-R driver used a darker, "Oh no, I skidded my brakes for a long period of time" filter/contrast."

Great pictures. Thanks they look great.

I battled to find a good brake balance for the GTR on 5 5 the back just locks up so the best I could come up with was 4 0 and even then it's a hard car to stop maybe it's a car that should be used with abs hence why I don't use it much.

Joined a crazy track yesterday.

Car was filthy after this race from all off road excursions.

Just a show off pull-up for the photo, rather than real action:

This is coming up the the 'Bus Stop' chicane on Spa. I find Cobra pretty unstable under high speed braking - you can see how it has loaded up.:nervous:

Locking up the wheels to create mysterious smoke effects for photomode:

Question: Does someone lock up the wheels on purpose to create smoke barriers for the cars behind you? I can imagine that would be pretty distracting (and spectacular) on tracks like Nordschleife in dusk.

Quick question: do the brakes glow red hot only with ABS off? I never noticed them glow when I drive with ABS. Then again, I rarely drive seriously powerful cars, so I don't know. I have some pictures of brakes glowing slightly and I'd like to share them here if they qualify as ABS-less action.

A little whoopsie at the end of the Mulsanne Straight with no ABS.

As FormulaKimball said, the Carousel is THE place to lock your wheels. Unfortunately I didn't have good lighting in this run, and I don't feel like locking my wheels on purpose again >.>

Actually made the clean pass of both cars, took the Mazda on the exit with the old late turn-in, cut inside:
A proud moment 👍

Interesting, lets see it.

I can't say I do, but I can say that I enjoy the level of testing myself with no abs. And to think about it I haven't driven behind anybody yet that drives without abs so I haven't seen the effects it gives

The brakes do glow with abs on as well.

I took this one only because I think this car is just beautiful.

Can't see much in this one but I was on the brakes in a car that I find very entertaining to drive, The 180SX Type X.

Let's keep this thread alive this time.

The only rule (outside of AUP) should be "as long as there's brake lock, do what you want." But, 20 photos is a bit much.
