No DLC

DLC isn't going anywhere but we as consumers have a choice to purchase it or not. But GT6 will include it whether we want it to or not.

With a price less than 5$ is understandable to give us DLC every 40days with an amount of 10cars each time
Everybody knows that they can make the physics of the cars almost the same in same paterns of platforms of the cars.So in a matter of 3 months we will have 30 new premium cars in the game

Venom GT
SSC Tuatara
Bugatti SS
Ariel Atom V8
Ferrari LaFerrari
McLaren P1
Lamborghini Veneno

These kind of cars are worth being in the GT6

Except without PD outsourcing or increasing their workforce considerably they simply won't be able to create that many cars in that space of time. T10 can only achieve that with Forza because they outsource a great deal of their modelling work.

Forgive me for asking this, and I've tried with the search mode but cannot find the glossary to all the little abbreviations like dlc and OCD so could someone point me in that direction so I don't feel so stupid reading all this?:-)
Thanks!

I don't know how much I believe Kaz, but it is welcoming when Kaz said that he had no thoughts of DLC during the development of GT5, and that it was something he'll think about after the game's release... meaning that he and PD will make as much content as possible into the game by the game's release. Unfortunately, most developers/publishers don't think this way.

Yes but what I'm saying is many developers are now creating content with DLC in mind before the Vanilla product even launches. We have pre-order DLC, day 1 DLC etc. In that sense it isn't additional content anymore, it's content split off to make more money.

That's exactly the type DLC I hate.

Additional content has to mean additional effort AFTER the game's initial release. That's the only DLC I consider fair and just.

Worst DLC of them all is the type where you buy it off the store, and they're only kb in size, meaning they're probably already incorporated into the disk. Disgusting.

DLC is simply DownLoadable Content.

OCD has different meanings, but in these forums, it's most likely Online Car Dealership.

Thanks! I knew that OCD on the forums couldn't mean what it 'usually' means!

Unless it applies to us when we know we should be shutting the game off but we just can't because we are obsessed with trying out the tuning adjustments we made after the last race! 😜

There is good DLC that is actually DLC and there's this garbage, this is why I don't buy into most DLC, despite how good it is...

Oh and want this guy Angry Joe, funny dude with lots of good points.

"How can CAPCOM do this to their fans again?!?!?!?!"

Because fans complained, but forked over the bucks. yay capitalism.

Not always, it can also be content that's pushed out via and update to the game and then activated by a small licence, doesn't always mean it was on the disc.

That was then. They have a taste for it now. See - DLC paint pack.

The OCD would be neat to have as the DLC page...
One new car every other week for a year =D
52 new cars over the span of two years
Not to hard to accomplish.
I think it would be very hard to accomplish.
52 cars in two years actually does not seem so far fetched. They could split it into a DLC every six months containing 13 cars, or if they really want to keep the fans more interested they can at least do it ever 3 months with 6 or 7 cars

I know that they are not the same and probably don't do things the same but if T10 can produce 10 cars a month then what's stopping PD from getting half, or at least a quarter that.

Hopefully standards are completely dropped next game and everything is premium. If that happens though I see the car list getting some cuts.

That assumption is the problem, right there. Turn 10 only releases 10 cars per month. Their DLC is all planned out and well into production, if not almost completed, by the time a new game launches.

Turn 10 outsources their work and it takes them less time than PD to get cars made, but 10 per month on the spot is even beyond them.

For a better idea of how long it takes them to get cars together, look at their Community Choice Pack for FM3. Voting was held in Jan 2010, and the pack was made available in Dec 2010, so they need quite a bit of lead time.

One car every other week from PD is incredibly unrealistic.

I'm loving the irony here.

DLC when done well can give a whole new lease of life to a game even the non story focused games like GT. It's when developers put content on a disk that you need to fork over extra cas to unlock it is when it becomes extortionate! But judging by the mindbogglingly poor content that PD released as DLC at the prices they charged for paint chips etc leads me to believe that they better up their game for GT6!
