Indeed. When you think about it (in the not-so-obvious light), any fanboy, or in fact anybody here could work for PD - it could be You, Me, or any other person registered here. Fact of the matter is, is that we simply don't know, unless a user actually openly admitted working for PD, that is.

Alright, I admit that I am employed by PD.
And I'm not just saying that because Turn 10 payed me to do so!

I take it you haven't read anyone reacting strongly to someone else's post, especially when they disagree with the original poster, even to calling them or their posts stupid? ;)

I have a feeling that if the shoe was on the other foot, and some of you had produced something you wanted to be proud of, and you read some of the napalm typical of this place, you might decide to have someone filter out the felgercarb. I think I'll quote my hero Griffith500.

That's why windows is perfect....
:ouch:

I'd say it's better than it would be if Gates just listened to the "thank you for Windows it's perfect" people. Point is, too often negative criticism of any game on any game forum turns into a parade of people calling them "whiners" or saying stuff like "people will complain about anything". Which is ironic in itself, as they are in fact complaining that others are complaining. When the reality is, it's the negative posts (even some of the more irate ones) that spell out exactly what is wrong and what needs to be fixed.

The way I see it, I'm going to give up my hard earned money for GT6, and that $60 I spent could easily go to a million other things. I think I have every right to criticize it I think something isn't right or could be improved upon, as long as things don't get taken to a personal level. My biggest issues with GT5 have to do with a lack of common sense, like the terrible level system, paint chips, forced SRF, etc. If these or similar problems exist in GT6, I'm sure not going to sugarcoat it. I don't care if my criticism of the game hurts PD's feelings. It's not like they are giving us this game for free.

There is a difference between saying "the sounds needs improvements" and saying "you incompetent 🤬, are you 🤬 🤬? I wish you were all fired so that I could do your job instead."

The first is constructive, the second is just a load of crap. Sadly, there's an awful lot of the latter around here.

Lots of interesting user names with no posts over here.

Well of course there is a difference. But just because one isn't worded as politely as it can be doesn't necessarily remove the validity of the complaint. So casting them off as a "load of crap" is even more unproductive than any rant could be. And as someone else noted. These are not benevolent nice people producing games out of the goodness of their hearts at no cost....they are cut-throat multi-billion dollar corporations selling a product that is expected to work as advertised. When it doesn't, people are going to be upset. And rightfully so. The developers should have a thicker skin, and those that think they're "defenders" need to realize they do more harm than good.

Except there really isn't. Something tells me the former just doesn't stand out for you as much, seeing as how it's far more common.

Funny then how people have been asking for Porsche models for some years now with nothing to show for the trouble, Oh and before anyone tries to be clever and mention licencing issues let me point out. (Dauer 962 Le Mans)

I am sorry, but where does it say that every suggestion made here will be implemented? I have been coming to this website for 5 years and I have to see that anywhere.

You could look at it this way, the overall tone of negative posts hasn't really changed in 3 years but PD are still coming to the site so it would seem they have a thick enough skin to wade through the insults to find the constructive comments.

Well, of course PDI finds the positive constructive criticism.

KAZ -
The feedback we receive from our users – the positive and the constructive feedback – really provides energy for our company and really motivates us to do more. I think if we can keep up that relationship with the community, that would be great! Lastly, thank you all for your support!

What do you suppose they do with the posts that contain insults? Ignore them most likely, but I would be willing to bet that some of them get read and may sting (truthful or not).

If they were so hurt by certain comments as you claim they would have stopped reading years ago.

No. What I implied was that PDI doesn't have a public member here due to the rudeness and insulting nature of several of the posts/members.

GTPlanet articles are separate to the forum, and what you posted did not suggest that PD staff read the forum.

And you know this how? All I remember is that someone from the forum identified it first and eventually went to the News Section.

Most critique is probably more or less constructive and balanced, but there is an awful lot of the other kind too. I've seen my fair share of posts claiming that PD are a bunch of lazy, incompetent idiots and that the producer should be fired for doing such a poor job.

The point is that no one said that there can't be any criticism, the OP said:

Here is to insult free constructive criticism.

Obviously everything I write is constructive, otherwise what I'm doing would simply be self-serving, and I'm not a selfish person, so I can't begin to believe that it could be true.

Also, 44 posts and no diggity? :guilty:

You were responding to Simon by repeating a point that you didn't bother to defend when you claimed it was obviously true last time you made it. The "PD doesn't come here because GTP is too nasty" concept still isn't any more of a universal truth than it has ever been, and the information in the interview in the OP doesn't change that.

It all comes down to a simple fact Tornado. PDI doesn't have a public representative here but it is obvious that they read this place in some form or fashion.

What else is there to talk about?

Last I checked, PD doesn't have a public figure on their own website, or anywhere else for that matter.

What are you getting at? Attempting to quantify them not having a presence here does not make the former any less true.

I can't think of a better place for PDI to make their debut then GTPlanet. I am suggesting that being more inviting wouldn't hurt.

It's very rare for a game developer to have public presence in an official manner on an unofficial forum, no matter how big or positive that community is. It really doesn't make much sense to, even if this forum was 100% positive what are PD going to learn by publicly making themselves known and open to questioning/requests etc? They don't need to, they just need to read.

I'm a thinkin that Kaz looks over here at this forum like some some little old lady lookn at Playgirl, he sneaks a peek ever once in a while

There really shouldn't be any doubt to whether Kaz and/or PDI visit this site now.

There you go people of GTPlanet. There should be little or no doubt to as whether PDI listens to what is said in the forum.

Here is to insult free constructive criticism.
Does that mean that nobody else on the internet uses the name Kaz?

And you know this how? All I remember is that someone from the forum identified it first and eventually went to the News Section.

The idea that PD members read the forum was not supported in that article at all, that is a conclusion you jumped to. As for the GTP articles being in a separate section to the forum...I think that is obvious.

As if them adding the scirocco and Aventador didn't clue you in..
Oh and the play station forums are a mess..

Pretty much every car under the sun has been requested at some point, PD adding two of them doesn't prove they directly acted on those requests, it can just as easily be pure coincidence, again given how many cars are requested. They're bound to hit some of them whether intentional or not.
