No enhancement, no downsampling for 1080p screen users on PS4 Pro

Do you play with boost mode on? Just a thought that this may help the AA on a 1080p TV. I took mine off just for this game and it seems to help a little (although I have a 4K tv) so it maybe sharper anyway or in my imagination as I sit quite far from the TV
Yeah i have it on but it only affects non PS4 Pro enabled games.

PCARS 1 on the og PS4 was a STUNNING looking title how can the sequel look absolutely awful on the Ps4 Pro with double the GPU? Does it look like this for everyone else?

Unfortunately yes. Plus all the texture popping, shadow flickering, etc. I run the game on a 1080p TV, so I guess we get the code for the base ps4 without any of the enhancement other than framerate. Hopefully we get a bit of love from SMS in the coming months.

That's insane! Im amazed Sony allow this crap! Talk about getting short changed. I honestly think this is the worst level of detail i've seen in a racing game for a long long time. I'd expect VR to look like this on the PS4 Pro tbh. Im really gutted and very angry!

We're pretty much as good as we can get on stock Xbox. On the X though, we'll be looking epic. Pretty much high end PC looks.

Why does the PS4 Pro version look disgustingly bad? I would imagine we are on low settings to the PC equivalent if we are lucky as it looks way worse than PCars 1 on the OG PS4 with double the power. Makes zero sense?!?!

What does that entail though? A tiny patch that might up the AA? Ian said before release the PS4 Pro version has "no horrible jaggies" c'mon Ian why say that? For me the jaggies are only a small part of the problem Why do we lose all detail on the cars infront. I just cannot fathom how a console that has double the power of the PS4 looks every bit as bad as it and way worse than the original game.

Just look at those lights on the car just 3 infront.:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy:

I have a 1080P 55 inch vizio with a standard PS4 and my graphics are 10x better than that. I'm thinking it may be PS4 pro specific issue or some kind of settings problem.

It's a direct capture from the console itself, im wondering if a delete/fresh install is needed? Something is far wrong with how it looks although the HUD is crystal clear.

Could you post a screen with the Clio's at Oulton or anyone else for that matter at day n night.

yeah very identical on what you posted. i guess we are on the mercy of SMS now if they would bother improving it significantly for the ps4 pro in which im very skeptical with. anyways , im moving on  will play the pc version later :lol::lol:

It's going to be interesting if Racerdude posts his screens from normal PS4 and they are better than what us Pro guys are getting :nervous:

Yeah id say that looks every bit as bad. Basically Pro users get the base PS4 game with better FPS and zero graphical enhancements.

Id be very worried those buying a Xbox X for this game as clearly no effort is getting put into the more powerful consoles.

here is a shot i took yesterday in my pro running on "enhanced mode" in an LG 4K TV. as what Harry said it's more or less the same graphics as the base ps4 model :( but what i did like and some of you might have noticed is my shot is a little bit darker but what is really happening there is HDR is kicking in! ;) honestly, after playing races at night yesterday with HDR enabled i became a believer of this tech. 👍 it really does makes a diffrence and i can't wait to see it on Gran.....nvm. :D

Not for us 1080p users which is what the thread is about, Why no major graphical enhancements? With the horse power surely Medium/High settings from PC is what we should be looking at? Why does the PS4 Pro version look MUCH WORSE than PCARS 1 on og PS4 or why does it look IDENTICAL to Ps4 PCARS 2 with double the GPU?

LOD popping and lack of detail on cars is just abysmal. Then before release you told us the game has no horrible jaggies....

I dont think im being unreasonable here i just dont understand it how it can look this bad or look the same as the older PS4.

How far away from your tv do you sit? I'm telling you with 100% honesty that I don't notice it when I'm playing the game. Graphics look fine. I set a good 6-8 ft from my tv though. I do agree, based off screens, that the PS4 standard screenshot and PS4 pro screen shot look pretty much the same but I do not agree with saying the graphics are bad on either while playing.

Im very close to a Sony 55" due to having a T300 and wanting the correct FOV etc, The graphics are awful for a Ps4 Pro game and makes no sense that they are indentical to the PS4's! Is the 2nd GPU even active? Wouldnt surprise me if we have some sort of bug going on and it's only using the same amount of GPU power as the og.

6ft-8ft seems an extremely far distance to sit for a racing title thats like you sitting in the boot of an estate car driving :D I can see why you thought the PS4 graphics were better than ours until you posted a direct screen :D

In my opinion, it is not so much about how good/bad it looks on a screenshot, but the terrible performance of the game in general. The popping of textures and objects, and the flickering of shadows is brutal. I think there is a big problem with the drawing distance in this version of the game. My experience with PCARS1 (with all its problems) on the standard PS4 is so much smoother than the PCARS2 on the PS4 PRO. It is pretty obvious to me that they have spent zero time on this version of the game. Now we are told that the X version will look great. I am very happy for them. Very disappointing.

On the PCars 2 forum alot of people on the PS section are extremely disapointed in the graphics we got while Ian is adament the graphics are much better than PCars1 which no one agrees with of course but to prove Ians point he posts a comparison video of both games but on PC ultra graphics. You couldnt make it up basically sticking his fingers up to the people in the 10 page thread.

Cherrs Ian PCars 1 on PS4 made you rich but still all your efforts go into the version that sells the least.
