Anyone use 'heel-toe' or 'rev-matching'? I saw these terms used in another thread but after reading it seems more of a clutch thing.
You guys are really funny, I can't tell you how many times I used my hand break out on course yesterday in the event I was competing in. It is a great way to add temporary rear brake bias in slow corners to pull the front end in when the car is pushing a bit. I've used it in all the various cars I've competed with. Its a fairly advanced technique, it takes practice to use it this way without over doing it and locking the rears. It doesn't work nearly as well in GT5 for additional (non locking) rear breaking though.
Hey, it REALLY works! Ask any of the professionals from D1, they use it on just about every turn.
Ask the guys in F1, ALMS, Grand-Am, DTM, WEC, Indy, NASCAR, Aussie V8's etc. how often they use the handbrake to turn...enough said!

-_- They are professional drifters so of course they're going to use the handbrake.
D1 Drifters aren't allowed to use the handbrake.
And the only reason they're pulling on you in the corners lefty is because of throttle control. Check the replays, the ebrake is on there. They are NOT using it. Jett's trolling you guys.

I rev-match my downshifts out of habit, but I don't even know if it's doing any thing. It's just engrained in my brain to blip throttle on downshifts.
Even without using the clutch you are rev-matching?
Edit: I'm starting to get a little anxious...anyone else?

Yeah, it's just a habit. In iRacing you don't have to clutch downshifts even on h pattern cars, so I just LFB and blip it into gear.
Perdy darn quick there Skinny, I don't see you in the top 5000 for 6-5 whats up?
What are you feeling nervous about? Oh, and I will admit that I rev-matching even though my DFGT doesn't have a clutch .
I'm going to focus on practicing this a little. Thank goodness I became proficient with LFB'ing last year... So I'm going to LFB, tap gas, downshift? All roughly at the same time, right?
Lol I wish man. Everyone, including myself, isn't putting in the time we should at the moment. 8-5 will be a lot different but it won't keep my nose off the grindstone. I picked up GT5 again, right before I was going to finish my time on 6-4...so 6-4 and 6-5 I haven't really worked on. In fact I don't know what 6-5 is yet. Mmmmmm speed test dlc....
Anyway, thanks for the compliment Lefty. I think thats a first for me.
Just ready for the 8-5 grind.
