There's no sound coming out of my speakers. Help me. Everything's plugged in, unless there's something I'm missing..and there's no sound from anything. Tell me if I need to elaborate.

I'm a dolt. I had unplugged the speaker cord from the back of the computer to put my headphones in, and then never put it back in.

:P

My speakers are cool. On the front of the right speaker there is a button to turn it on and play with the volume and under it is a headphone jack.:P

Sony Computers kick arse.

Custom computers kick more arse...;)

Logitech Z640s look pretty good to me...and they're nice and cheap. Hopefully they can replace my old ****ty speakers on this laptop.

Custom computers do rule if you want a PC. My PC is still kicking ass compared to most home computers...

  • AMD Athlon XP1800+
  • GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB AGP 2nd Edition
  • 512MB DDR RAM
  • 80BG Maxtor Harddrive
  • 2.1 California Acoustics Flat Panel Speakers
  • Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
  • NEC 19" Digital CRT Monitor

Yeah, it rules.

I think the specs you posted are more or less standard specs now :)

Well, compared to most people's computers. Its only the family PC anyway. I plan on getting a Mac. :)

How much would you pay for this in the US and the UK? Rough guesstimate?

P4 2.4 Ghz
1GB DDR RAM
128 mb display card
120GB HD
52x 24x 52x CD-R
17" 1280x1024 DV-I LCD mon
+ standard stuff (LAN card, keyboard etc.)

Onboard sound for me at the moment, it sucks on this computer, but on the box I'm building at the moment the onboard sound is quite nice, A7N8X-X, Mmmmmmmmm.

Whats the point in spending a few hundred dollars on a sound card anyway?
