Noob question about the G25 and GT5:P

Hi all, new member here.

So I just bought GT5:P and I already own a G25, I found out how most of the wheel works with the game, the only problem I am having is not knowing how to use the paddles for gear changes... currently I just bought the R35 GTR and everytime I press on the paddle for a gear change, nothing happens. I know how to enable the clutch and all, is there a button to press to engage paddle shifting?

Oh, and some people have told me to 'select' Driving Force Pro as my wheel, however when I visit the options and go to the Logitech wheels I don't exactly get how to pick a specific wheel... it tells me that I can change the buttons assignments for all the wheels there but I don't get how to choose a primray one (if that's even possible).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

You have to put the G25 in sequential mode to use the paddles.

Sorry can help you with picking what one, I just left mine as is and use it that way.

Yes select sequential mode on the shifter box, the silver dial you have to rotate it (while putting downward pressure on the shifter) and when it is in sequential mode you will see both green LED's on.

You don't 'pick' a primary wheel, just when there is no settings for G25, it defaults to using Driving Force Pro settings. So GT5P just thinks that there is a DFP plugged in, any changes to DFP settings will change how your G25 interacts with the game. Hope that makes sense.

Click on my link and you will find some pictures and info for your G25 wheel in "My Album" feel free to print them, some are blank so you can set the wheel up the way you like. And yes you can use the functions on the DFPGT wheel settings.

on my g25 i can shift up with paddles but not down

Is the silver dial rotated all the way to the left (little red arrow is fully left indicating sequential) and both LED's are green?

If you don't push the stick downward (to the ground, not back) while rotating the dial it wont engage properly and you have odd things like paddles not functioning properly.

If you don't enable the clutch by pressing triangle when you're given control then it's easy as the game does the clutching/blipping for you and you just select the gears (even with the H pattern selector).

With Clutch enabled and no real life clutch experience you might find it a bit of a overload at first, a relative of mine who never drove with a clutch before (or driven a real car) but is a very good racer without it tried my G25 (clutch enabled), using the clutch took so much of his concentration he was forgetting to brake for corners, after practice he was getting better and better until you don't think about it at all. Also don't bother trying heel-toeing until you get to that point.

Yes the H pattern does and so does the clutch if you enable it in the same way.
