Update Details (1.12)

An update for Gran Turismo 6 has been released. The following issues have been addressed:

-Fixed some bugs in the game menu.

-The community features, track editor, and B spec, will be available in a future update.

Well the last part is obviously going to happen.

Update 1 will only bring a feature that will give the option of not downloading videos in an update. Update two will be the content update I can only assume.

If anything were to come out of this, it's online related as a second maintenance session is needed for better optimization. Don't quote me on this but I believe this had been the case before.

To me a double unscheduled maintenance is because PD is finally happy with the status of a new build of the game, most likely with a large feature or two that will add to or change the game considerably. Maintenance 1 is to install all new data to server so it can be tested internally live, and Maintenance 2 is to make it live and available to all players.

I personally am expecting to see any or even (hopefully) all of the following: a track creator, some sort of a sound update, a DLC track, DLC car pack, B-Spec, random fixes and/or previously unannounced features.

They are probably gonna test the servers after the first maintenance to see if i's stable and doesn't have any bugs and then use the second one to stabilize it so that they won't need to have a hotfix.

First maintenance - New Update (Tuesday).
Second maintenance - unlock DLC in PS Store (Wednesday).
(PS Store updated every Wednesday).

in Europe, USA is on Tuesdays, Japan on Thursdays.

Two updates on two days would be a waste of time, money, resources and server bandwidth. There's a certification process for game patches... they'd never be allowed to do something like that, which is why a lot of developers go through server updates and various hotfixes instead of full game updates.

Anyone expecting two updates is in for disappointment. This happened with GT5 at least one time, and only one update came from it.

The only 2 day maintenance like these that I remember was to patch up the possibility of making hybrid cars, nothing else was added besides this.

But probably there been more that I can't remember at all.

Here's what I predict
Tomorrow: Announcement of an update and whatever it will contain
Wednesday: Update releases
Update Contents: Circuito de la Sierra and atleast one new car.
Why this update may contain 2 maintenance periods is unknown at the time, Maybe PD wants to make sure that whatever will be in the update will work without issues.
