Number outside the tyres in the new HUD?

The most logical thing to me would be either brake wear or fade.

I sincerely hope that brake wear/temperature/fade are included. As well as tire pressure.

But... That information should be conveyed graphically similar to tire wear.

Tiny digits at the bottom of the screen are useless in race conditions.

In the video of someone driving the SLS GT3, the tyres are white but, when he was braking too late the tyre changed colour to red, then green then white. Maybe there is no colour "blue" to simulate cold tyres. We'll find out today when the demo is played.

Or brake temperature? Either way, I doubt those indicators are functional in these screenshots.

I would go with brakes "something".

Temperature and wear are already logically displayed and in the same manner as in all genre in games for decade.

On another note, those infographics should have an option to be turned off for online races as other "aids". I said option, mind you. It would add great level of complexity for those who love to race with wear ON.

It looks like a mock-up and it says it's a "prototype" so it's not a finished deal but..

I'm going with tire wear.

I hope this is true so on qualifying runs we can turn it up to 11.

Hopefully, it's something new they simulate that hasn't gotten its graphics yet.

My eyesight is in no way poor and I can't imagine that I'd be able to read that without diverting my attention from the road. That writing is tiny.

Agreed.

Maybe it's how many times you can run that tyre over the white line before you car explodes :dunce:

I actually wish we could separate corner cutting from bumping other cars in the penalty settings. The track is between the solid lines.

That's a good idea to make endurance racing more challenging.

If Polyphony Digital were to implement brake temperature/fade/wear, I would expect it to look something like this:

I'm not giving up hope just yet though, as we are apparently quite a few that really want it simulated. :)

Ha ha! That's great! :D
Is that what's shown during racing? It's not really an "at a glance" indicator. :boggled:

Who knows how many (new) variables are in the new suspension and tyre simulation?
Ah, well, yeah... Polyphony D. knows.

Yeah, that's shown during a race, but you get to choose what is listed. You don't need it all if you don't want it.

At 0:59, 1:14, 2:54, 4:10 to 4:20, and most noticeably 4:53 These indicators are possibly connected to tire wear, load or loss of traction. "with SRF off, Traction Control disabled, and Sports Hard tires"--From the main page. Three colors are present: Blue(normal) Orange(heavy) Red(Critical)

Here, at 2:22, is another example of the color codes:
Orange(left Front) Red(Left Rear) and Blue (Right Front and Rear)

I would put money on tire wear indicators. The bar graph is broken into 20% blocks and the numerical designator refines that to 10% increments and both are changing color with tire temperature. I suspect tire wear was turned off or disabled for the E3 demo build. Maybe Jordan can confirm or refute these assessments?

It looks to me like tire wear indicator with 10 being like new. I noticed on one of the higher res videos that the number did not change when the tires got red hot or lost traction.

Wear is the only thing that seems to make sense and that is likely not enabled in the demo so would probably just stay at 10 all the time.
