how can you prove if the times put are true?:) i could say whatever time, e.g 0.027 faster than the fastest lap and how would you know i'm telling the truth ;) should have to have some evidence like a photo of the time on screen. just a thought mate :)

or you could have honest people who put the actual time they got :L that may help

Thanks for the advice i did not think about that :). Well maybe you could provide a picture of the time and car and link it here. Like I said this is my first thread and so I'm still learning!

By uploading the replay, its not hard all you have to do is save it then put it on a memory stick and on to your pc and upload to the forum.

Uploading/emailing a picture of the lap records screen sounds quicker. As long as it shows that it was an MX-5 that produced the time it's all good.

Might have a go myself!

I know I am the host but I wanted to see how my time compares to others! I set a 7:31:262 in a fully tuned MX-5 '07. I can not send a photo because my file types are not valid(JPEG) so I do apoligize:guilty:

no pic taken. top 10 is faster than 7.24 so its not listed. i might reproduce similar laptime if bored.

I have some time to kill before the David Coulhard seasonal, so...

Mazda MX5 '07 (Premium)
-All aids: off
-Trans: MT
-Grip: Real
PP: 507
BHP: 336
KG: 936

-All upgrades, full aero, geared to 171MPH

First Lap: 7.32.929 (invalidated) with 3 or 4 spins and too short gears...

Second Lap: 7.14.846 pretty clean, definitely worth fixing the gears to 186MPH.

Third Lap: Was 2 seconds ahead all the way bt got invalidated, so i rage quitted

And before any smart 🤬 says "Pics or it didn't happen"...

Sorry for the photo quality, iPod+Standard def TV= bad proof...

very good so far you are first then in 2nd it is erik92. BTW I did set a lap of 7:22:45 but i can't post it as i am host! :)

i might manage 7.05 if perfect. best lap is with max performance, RS tires. NO TUNING. just gearbox ratio. no suspension tuning etc. STOCK.

BTW, the stock car is great!

My previous attempt with the '89 miata didnt have same power. lacked about 50hp from the '07

Maybe the best way to do the prove of a time is just have the top 3 times provide picture of prove at the end of the event when its closed?

Also maybe a little leaderboard of peoples names and times to keep track is a good idea.

I'll give this a go over the weekend.

Feel free to join back in. Since the servers are down I was bored and decided to run a lap in my miata. Time: 7:02.378

Thats a mighty good time you've set there. I'm gonna give it a go. Looks like i have to crack 7min to win this.

And it also looks like im gonna have to spend alot of time tuning the car! This gonna be fun!

yea, sub 7 min is definitely doable. I havent run a great lap yet, and just threw on some set up. I'll run a few more laps here an there and see where I end up :)

A helpful hint: Try having a look at RKM's tune for an 89' eunos. In my opinion it handles perfectly but that's just me! BTW thanks for having a go at this competion it looks to be fun!!! :)

I prefer tuning a car myself, as I have noticed most "tuner's" setups don't really work too well, at least for me, and I can usually make a better one. I can't make this a general statement as I have only tested a few of the set-ups on here, but it's also a lot more fun for me to run my own set-up and try to make it good.

This is going to be something fun for me to do while none of my friends are online and while I am learning my wheel.

Ciao

So i decided to have a go at it again before I went to bed, and was determined to get sub-7 minutes; however, I could not get a clean fast lap posted. I ran a 6:59.705 but redded out due to a silly error. oh well. I got one clean lap of the three, but screwed up toward the end due to nerves. I was going to hit a 6:57-58, but crossed the line at 7:00.165. SO CLOSE!!!!!

So just for ***** and giggles, I decided to run that new DLC miata on here to see how it faired, and my was I amazed. That car just gripped. Though I didnt have the stage 3 engine, so I was only putting out 266hp, I managed to run a 6:55.108 with room to improve, but I figured it was good enough. The Roadster TC isn't a production miata, so you can choose to include the time or dismiss it; it doesn't really matter to me.

What the hell?! How did you do that? Yeah you fully deserve to win so congrats! If/when you win expect a FT-86 concept ready to sell in your garage!!!
The competition has now ended. Podium finishers will recieve cars soon.
