Me too, love options & GT games need more of them. However, did you know that if you translate Options straight into Japanese it comes out as Restrictions! :sly:

Dude, no wonder!! It all makes sense..

Our asking for new ingame options is actually us asking PD to remove and restrict features.

So all this time, we've actually been all asking for more skylines and miatas.
and when PD gives them to us, we still want more skylines and miatas.
They give us some more and kaz steps in and gives us his personal race GTR,
still we want more skylines and miatas
Hes gotta be sick of us by now.

No, just turn around in arcade mode and get it out of your system.

PD could add other major tracks that are hard to master like pikes peak...

You make it sound like it would be hard to flip a few 0s and 1s and reverse a track thats already modelled and in the game.

I wouldn't want any real world track in reverse purely for the reason stated earlier about how each corner is designed in a specific way plus it just doesn't seem right! But what would be good, and to be fair added to all circuits, is fog. Watching the ending movie of the 24hr race at the 'ring looked awesome in the fog. Heavy rain can make for some great races so imagine a dry track but with seriously impaired visibility.

Real world tracks are generally driven in only one direction, so it makes sense for the game to follow suit.

Those aren't just a bunch of random turns in the road... every corner is designed, and is meant to be taken in a particular direction.

The corners are fine in reverse, but the crash barriers and run-off zones aren't.

Enthusia Professional Racing is the only game I remember playing where I can recall racing the Nürburgring Nordschleife in reverse. As much as I loathe racing this course, this track is even more hellacious in reverse. Only good news is that the easiest part comes first. I'll stick to this course in the normal direction. Thank you very much.

It was either Valdudes or granturismo oink who drove the ring in reverse using an enzo (I think) so it is a pretty neat idea to include a reverse layout for the ring as a drivable track.

No, not hard at all, just so unrealistic it would just be silly.

Having driven several GT tracks in real life, even I sometimes feel I'm back at the track in GT, and this just adds to the immersion of the real tracks I've never been to...

Ironically GT 5 did a slightly better job for reasons I haven't figured out yet, perhaps the removal of hard shadow effected some visual depth, but that's another topic...

Though I think the GT series would benefit greatly from more "gamey" features, this suggestion is just too gamey for me.

On the same subject but on a different circuit. In the early 70s Japan, few races was run backwards on the original Fuji Speedway.

I would like to have it, would be a challenge but I have yet to see any game that gave a reverse of any real world track as an option. Could be that the track owners will not allow it

Yea, usually track owner/operators don't allow their tracks to be done in reverse. Nurburgring however might have some hope as it has been done before. PGR 4 (and 3 I think) had reverse versions of the Ring. So it could happen.

I totally agree but that will never happen to any racing game because the sudschleife was destroyed during the war by allied bombers. A tragic loss for car enthusiasts.
Actually it was only demolished (but no more in use) for construction of the GP Circuit in '82-'84. A few sections are still there, some now as public road.

Should be possible to convincingly recreate it digitally, I'd love it. As well as some other historic tracks. Monza with the old banking, anyone?

Running Nurburgring in reverse is ok. I would like to see a bridge to gantry lap. If possible going something like this, starting in the parking lot then going though the gate like IRL. Also there is there is another configuration on the GP track, which would be good to have.

I don't see why this could not happen... it can be done, even if its not there anymore. There are surely enough data and documents from it that would allow a decent enough recreation.
no. its bad enough the 'right' way :(

Ah, those were the days! PGR3 certainly did have many reverse tracks including variants of the Nordschleife. I really enjoyed the experience simply because it provided extra tracks and therefore variety.

Given that this is a "game", I see no reason to restrict the flow to one direction even if IRL it is never driven in reverse.
