Woo hoo, tea party!

3685381158_e893b0a965.jpg

Not a very large gathering, not like the April 15th rally. The date and location had been changed several times and its kinda hot today. I didn't even feel like getting in people's grills to take pictures of their signs. :indiff:

I still don't get why people are calling them tea parties when they're not even on the anniversary of the boston tea party. It's pretty stupid if you ask me.

Well, the one in Kentucky is being called a Freedom Rally, but it is being run by the Tea Party of Kentucky.

What would you call them? Right-wing extremist racist militia pow wows?

Well if you're going to do them on independence day, call them Independence Rallies or something like that.

Those Tea/Independence/Whatever Parties puttered out more quickly than I thought, then. I had read earlier today about a few up and down the east coast and how small they were, and I found it very disappointing. The big show the first time was pretty cool, but you've gotta follow through if you want to get your message out. Of course, there wasn't quite as much "oomph" behind them this time around anyway. If these organizer guys are saying its going to be a "three part deal," they've got another chance.

The reason why they didn't have the oomph is because they weren't co-opted by the likes of Beck and Hannity.

Fail 👎

I don't need Beck or Hannity to tell me anything. Glenn Beck didn't tell me to wake up early and take my ass to the old court house on a 110 degree day. Take a little trip down YouTube Ave. and you can see tea parties have been taking place since April 15th... no Hannitizing required.

I fail to see how what I said is fail. The April 15th rallies had the Fox News commentator staff calling on all their fans to show up. These did not. Beck and Hannity acted as if the April 15th rallies were their idea, they didn't make an appearance here.

I said nothing about what you did or did not need to be motivated to go.

Listening to Hannity and he says check out Drudge. What could all the commotion be...

Looks to me like Obama's looking towards the ground on the right side of the woman who seems to be picking up something.

Straws + grasping = you

Joke

n.
  1. Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.
  2. A mischievous trick; a prank.
  3. An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.
  4. Informal.
    1. Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.
    2. An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.
Why bother discussing politics anymore? You know my stance. I rather go out and do something to effect real people. Not sit here and get attacked.

I'll just let Obama self-destruct by himself.

You sir, have clearly failed at humor.

+1.

@Solidfro

If people really wanted to waste their time hearing people 🤬 and moaning about the president (out of ignorance and sheer pessimism (sp? I don't really care..) they could turn on Fox news. Seriously sir, if Obama were to cure AIDS or end world hunger you (and all the other people just like you Hannity, O'Reilly, and 95% percent of the population of my state) would sure find something against it. He's a politician. Not everything's going to be 100% but devoting your entire life to the cause of saying he's all that's wrong with America is a waste of time and comes off as childish and like a baby that didn't get his way. Do you really think things would have been better with any other candidate in office? No America's going down in flames and I am proud that Obama at least is trying new things to try and save it from a complete and total crash. It's better than a GOP official in office practicing Bush politics that didn't work for a whole eight years. We don't need someone to get in there and just sit on their ass and wait for things to happen, things have to be done and Obama's motivation and willingness to try different things just may save this country.

Silverzone, Obama is doing Bush policies. That's the problem here-- no change whatsoever. Spending money you don't have will always bankrupt you. Governments aren't exempt from this fact.

But I agree that the frivolity of some of the criticism detracts from the more important, fundamental problems of his policies that need correcting.

A) You're misunderstanding what the government was put in place to do.
B) You're assuming that the government can actually help with this problem - when all evidence suggests the opposite.
C) You're misunderstanding the role that the government has played in the past, and so you're unknowingly coming to the conclusion that "more of the same" = "change".

Who's "making an ass" of themselves?

Actually I think the US government has been making an ass out of themselves for longer then just the Obama or Bush terms. We've been making an ass out of ourselves for years.

I said in my posts that Obama's not 100% but I garuntee you he's doing a better job than anyone the GOP would put out there. I love how people from the right are completely fine with invading a country and taking away civil rights, but when someone touches their money they freak the hell out and declare the world is over. Simple economics - you have to spend money to make money. Convervatism doesn't work and will never work in times of crisis (which IMO we are in). We have to allot a certain amount of time for Obama's stimulus to kick in. Instead of blindly throwing jabs and condemning the plan (such as Hannity and his worthless waste 101 program or whatver, does he not realise that for those tasks to be done, their has to be people employed to do them???) the plan will put many people back to work, and thats what we need.

The only thing that is working is that "making an ass" of yourself thingy.

You're forgetting that it takes time to repair something. Things are always darkest before dawn and As soon as all these plans start going into action their going to need to hire new construction workers, researchers, etc. You can't have things isntantaneously.
