what do you think is a car that is not known as well as others? I will go with a fully modified Suzuki GSX-R/4. 275HP, about 1000 lb. whats not to like?

I'm sure this will get locked buuuutttt ....

Ford Gt, not many people like it but it's my absoloute favourite car in the game, and it sounds sick.

In passing, it's an interesting concept - cars that no-one really knows about or uses.

Then the two posted examples are a car everyone uses for the El Capitan endurance race and an ultra-famous supercar based on a revival of one of the most famous cars of all time...

See, I'd go for something peculiar like the Mitsubishi i - Kei car proportions, MR drivetrain and only the gear "D" to get you through life. But a laugh a minute (if you turn the speakers down - the constant drone can get tiresome). I drive it all the time, but I doubt many other people could say the same.

Unknown gems. Not "favourite car" or "weapon used by everyone". Continue.

Oddly enough I am going to go for the Ginetta G4, I doubt many noticed its presence in the game, but with a bit of tuning it has an admirable power:weight and above all, looks pretty cool.

??? The Amuse GT1 is my weapon of choice for El Capitan. I hadn't even thought of that one.
My car that not many poeple use? It'd have to be the CL600. Black of course.

I like the Ginetta too. I think a lot of people avoid it because, out of the box, it's fairly tricky to handle. The Alpine suffers from the same issue.

Proto Motors Spirra.., dang thing's a monster if tuned properly.., ;) 👍👍

I just tuned a Honda Odyssey, and it's surprisingly fun to drive. It handles great considering it's a minivan. Of course, I was on R3 tires, but that's beside the point.

Prelude type S? Its easy to drive i like it :)

The Prelude is considered odd? :odd:

I had some good racing in the Odyssey, too. I wish it had a V6 engine & more power, tho. :grumpy:

you guys forgot the Nike One. that's a lot of fun to take on a twisty, and it even has fun on RALLY tracks.

as for the Mitsu i...try tuning it. cool sound with a race exhaust, and you can get rid of the CVT with a race box (like on ANY CVT) there's a GT2 precident car that's a hot hothatch once you remove the CVT (i forgot what it was)

I like the i as it is - we have a peach of a LAN series with it involved too :D

My only offerings come from 200pt adventures. The Daihatsu Copen got me many hundreds of points, though I often used ballast on the thing. And the inferior '88 Silvia got me a lot of points too.

I say the Mitsubishi HSR-II concept and the Tank Car

I think the Mitsubishi HSR concept is odd is because when you turn these things flap up(maybe the boot)? Example:You turn right the right one goes up etc.

I think the Tank Car is odd is because It's not a everyday car or a car that you would you normally see at the show.

It's actually an air brake little dude. 👍 The HSR-II Concept (there was an HSR before it) was capable of hitting 360km/h and road car brakes back in the late '80s weren't up to today's standards of 8 pot calipers and carbon ceramic discs. The air brake was another way to slow the car down from high speed as it created air drag, the more you brake the higher it went, and it would adjust itself for turning aswell for better handling.

Honda Logo, I think. Might be wrong, tho.

My brother got obsessed with the Ginetta, and it kinda rubbed off on me. It's the most unruly, difficult car to control I've yet driven, so it's pretty much perfect for learning driving technique. Try tuning it to 220bhp and LOWERING(!) the mass to 400kg, and taking it round the Nurburgring. Minimal downforce = eeeek! That'll teach you to drive quicker than any other method!

I've done more miles in that than any other car, once you get used to it's eccentricities - it's well good fun to drive, and absolutely minces most cars at double the power, especially on shorter circuits like hong kong. Just remember to brake much earlier than usual!

Most cars from the historic car lot. There were some I had scrolled down previously, but to my surprise, never checked them out. Another car that nobody seems to know, though I may be wrong, is the BMW 2002 Turbo. Nice little car.

Parnelli: BINGO. has a nice race paint scheme, too.
also figured out how to get mini hotrods out of the likes of the Life in GT2...racing tires change the wheel size in that one

On the Nike One/weird concept car theme, the Toyota MTRC concept is pretty fun and certainly odd.

A single gear, fuel cell powerplant, sits two people in-line, and looks awesome. One thing I didn't know about it until I drove it on some of the rallying tracks is that the suspension adjusts up and down in real time depending on what surface you're on - try it on a circuit like Chamonix and when you go from the tarmac onto the snow the suspension raises - just about apparent from the in-car view, quite obvious from the 3rd person view or in replays.

As for rarities in GT4, one car I didn't even know existed, much less was in the game until fairly recently was the Honda 1300 Coupe 9S (more details here):

It looks great and it goes pretty well too. The real car was actually miles ahead of it's time (late 60s early 70s), with a high specific output (116bhp from 1.3 litres - 88bhp/l), and produced it at pretty high revs (7200rpm). It had four carbs, yet was air cooled and dry sumped. Even so, it was much quieter than other air-cooled units as they managed to reduce harmonic vibrations.

All of this matters not though - all that matters, is that in GT4 it's a brilliant little car. And yet, as with myself until relatively recently, I doubt very many of you have even driven it...

I haven't seen that before, have to try that one out 👍 Thanks! :)

how about the Chaparrel cars? where on earth do you see those?
one looks like a rocket!

They're in a museum now. Great racing history Jim Hall's Chaparrals had in the '60s up till the 2J (sucker car) in 1970. There are some threads here that go into some good detail.

Interesting thread guys! I'd have to go with the Tommy-Kaira ZZ-S and ZZ-II. Get the right set-ups for both of those cars...Oh MAN!

ZZ-S: Fully modded, your looking at 353hp from 600-some Kgs...O_O Yeeah, a REAL attenion grabber!

ZZ-II: It's a Supercar with Nissan Skyline R34 internals, what more could you want? Easily boosted over 900Hp with smooth All-Wheel drive control? Bliss!

I've won JGTC races with both of those cars...The ZZ-S in particular is a real giant-killer. The ZZ-II is also good for racing in the Dream Car championchip.

there's also those of us who like fiddling with the "Tee" cars (those little twin cylinder jobbies that Japan, Inc started with). 'course, from what I can tell, nobody else on any Gran Turismos seems to do a full-boat tune on ANY car (there are those of you who'll argue the point, but it strikes me that a lot of people don't bother)
