Odd Racing Superstitions & Habits

In the last couple of months, I haven't done anything to the progress in gt4. I have been around 50% for ages! :-p
The reason is that I don't really believe that I can get to 100%, so I just end up doing other things I like, tuning etc...

Can you call this a superstition?

The thread title is re 'Odd superstitions and habits', so I reckon this fits. But it's not superstition, perhaps though related to a habit.

I've only hit over 50% due to having to get a couple of prize cars for GTv4. I don't even race anymore, just review for folks like you at RVV. Racing gives me the wordfilters, cause there are all of these cars messing up my line. For months now the only thing I've done in the ame is race and review others' tunes, license tests, or the odd 200-pt tune (except for recent testing for enduros). I b-specced my way past the GTWC and have done nothing of real consequence in terms of game completion since then.

In a sense, one regret is being clever and respectful enough never to have started a thread entitled 'How does I win the GTWC!!?!!1?!! it's too hard'. THOUGH IT TENDS TO LOOK BETTER WHEN WRITTEN IN CAPS. One of my habits extends to gleefully following these and the 'Where does I get Black Beauty!!1!!1' threads, watching the response by members and noting the time it takes before the thread is locked.

Oh god, I'm a nerd...

Yes you can in a way. It's almost like you get to a point and then this mental block shows up. It could be a superstition, or it could just be something unconscious.

I'm glad my self hug/squeeze has delighted many alike. Yes it is a HUG not of the 5 knuckle shuffle variation. :P

You may be also happy to know that you (inadvertently) helped us get a question at the pub trivia tonight: In what city is the second F1 racing event of the season held? I thought of you mate, but chose not to 'reward' myself as it could seem impolite.

Not so much a racing habbit but an old tuning habbit in GT4, I wouldn't leave a tuning session with a car until I cracked out a crackerjack lap with it.

I have more of a 'trained' habit with my DFP, I guess would be the best way to describe it

Whenever I'm taking a long, wide corner (something like at T246) with a good amount of G-force, I'll lean into the corner just slighty like you would irl, and don't notice it 'till I hit the corner's mid-point and I ask myself "why am I leaning like this ?...oh..right"

I also seem to keep my shoulders a little tense when trying new things with unfamilar cars (different lines, approaches, etc)

Yea me too. And if I'm heading down a track and there's a wall coming up, I'll tense my shoulder or something, as though I'm about to hit the wall with my actual shoulder.

i do this as well, probably because i really do race and I've had a few bad crashes. one of mine from my racing experience is that i always put on my right driving shoe first. if i accidentally put on the left one first i have to take it off and then put on the right one.

Well, i race with a dualshock controller, i dont have a wheel. I have to be the perfect distance from my tv and have the volume just right. I hate most of the in game music so ill also play my fav radio station, wich plays classic rock, quietly as i race. If none of this is perfect, im not a very good driver...lol
