Someone please enlighten me as to why the Syclone is so special?
Why does it need to be a race/sports car for it to be in the game?
That's what made GT4 so awesome is that there was such a weird collection of cars that made the races more interesting.

You should also look at the GMC Typhoon as well. It is the SUV version of the Syclone.

Back when it came out, there were plenty of "sport trucks" but there were more along the lines of the fancy bodywork and most were don't by aftermarket companies. The Syclone and the Typhoon were the first true sport trucks done by an actual, big name company. And they were the last until Ford came out with the SVT Lightning which was followed by the SRT10 Ram, the Saleen S331 and the Chevy SST and SSR. The Syclone and Typhoon are important 'cause it defined what a Sport Truck is and what it should be for the others after it to follow.
Exactly why I loved GT4 for it's Nike car and Tank car.

Yes, the GMC Syclone is pretty awesome. We need some Holden Utes now (we own the fastest utility/pick-up in the world, come on....), and we'll have a big Ute/pick-up race. But the Syclone is nice, either the best or 2nd best (to El Camino) Ute America has produced.

I agree the Syclone was easily 20 years ahead of its time. AWD turbo V6 in an extremly small and light vehicle. VERY fast even in todays standard. I was actually lucky enough to ride in one when it first came out. But I was very young.

I doubt that you'd have to be weird to appreciate a car that could put most of the cars of its time to shame... Or rather, it's the same kind of weird that you'd have to be to appreciate cars that are slow POS's when stock and only made a name for themselves when they're modified to hell and back againIts in the game to cater for the weird section of their audience.

But, this kinda reminds me of the fact that I don't really have a car I'm wishing for. Sure, there are some that I'd like to see, but there's nothing that really sticks out to me as something I really, really want.

They were the original GT1 McLarens, won Le Mans in 1995 along with the 95 and 96 BPR Global GT titles and I prefer them over the '97 'Longtail' variant.

Fun cars to drive. I remember a race we did with the R2's and two of us got off to a good start and were battling, scraping paint, fighting for position , not giving up an inch in those cars for first place on Nurn GP track. It looked just like those R2 races in real life. I wish I still had the replay of that one because it was great.
Here we go again with that premium/superpremuim nonsense(GT5 lookin @ U)..... it'd be nice if now that they have the cyclone that'd put the 99-2003 SVT Ford Lightning and Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T for Rivalry Purposes it just alot more of a practical matchup than the Ram SRT-10 we had alot co-club meets with the lighting club when both sport trucks were still being produced.
Don't get me me wrong I love the SRT10 Ram the year they choose for Forza 3 was probably the ugliest vers right after the facelift besides the 2005 was the world record holder for fastest truck... As for what ppl said about first sport truck, the cyclone was fast but the Little Red Express Truck from Dodge was the original.

I always cringe a bit when I read stuff like that. You know, I can barely believe how much GT5's standard/premium issue messes with people's heads.
