And you came to this conclusion based on one image? Brilliant.

Since no customization features have been announced... nothing concerning customization, rim paint, etc. is confirmed one way or the other.

I don't know if you are familiar with the Civic Type R, but the wheels come stock in Championship White.
In that picture they are clearly grey, Now unless they painted the wheels grey those wheels should be Champ. White.

Understood. But you cannot go around confirming things off of a single pre-release photo. Since white rims were one of the things frequently complained about in the Forza Motorsport forums I highly doubt they overlooked it.

Also understood. Hopefully they got it right this time, It would be a shame if it did go overlooked.

I just came across the full sized image and the wheels look white to me.

What's more embarassing is the BMW M3 GT2 art car with the older bumper and all

Can you link the picture?
And I'm not as disappointed about the art car-----
I'm not sure why.
I guess it just comes down to what's important to oneself... I don't mind the non-white wheels as much, as I don't like white wheels on most cars, so the art car being the wrong model year annoys me more.

But, if those are the biggest issues with FM4, I'll be fine with that, I think :D

Save the image and zoom in. Color looks almost dead nuts to me.
I'm on a laptop workstation (DELL Precision M4500), not sure if that matters.

Ok, I just did what you asked and it still didnt look dead on at all so I did one better I used the photoeditor on photobucket to grab the color from the face of the wheel and put it on the side of the car so you can clearly see it a different color.

It seems very strange to me how some people can downplay or overlook the omission of white wheels, and yet find fault with other parts of the games based on accuracy or authenticity (ie: the art car).

White wheels are very important for the sake of accuracy/authenticity if your creating a race replica paint job, there are numerous populare race liveries that feature brilliant white racing wheels, the racing car team liveries made by T10, are only a fraction of the teams out there, my of my favorite liveries arnt present in the game.

If i want to make an accurate Tom's Castol livery, it just looks wrong with grey/metallic wheels.

Exactly.
I couldnt have said it any better, white wheels are important to the game, just as much as Canards on the Art car

To me, Forza 3 had some issue with white wheels. That I'll agree with but these 2 images of the EK Civic Type R... no white wheel in Forza 3 looks as good as this unveiled one for Forza 4. And to me it looks right and what real world would show with shadows and all.

It's details though which some will scream blasphemy for T10 getting it wrong while others look at it as fluff not really important to them. I sit in the middle, leaning more towards the fluff side.

Given that Forza is a game that is trying its best to represent the cars as visually realistic as possible (time & technical restraints allowing), i think its only fair that the fan base take such omissions seriously.

You can say what you will about the game play, but the visual direction of the game is firmly simulation based, to consider that fundamental aspect of the game to be meer fluff, is to misunderstand direction that Forza (a sim) has been heading towards since its inception.

I can respect people's feelings about the white wheels. I personally think white wheels look cheap. I guess growing up in the Bronx and seeing cars with these wheels on them and being chipped up and scuffed and the vehicle not quite "commanding" such wheels put a bad taste in my mouth. I usually associate such wheels with a Earl Scheib paint job which would be as equally cheap. But if they are really throwing people off from the game I can respect that and I won't belittle that. Sorta like with me and the premium/standard and no uploads of replay thing with GT5. Some very negative stuff in my book. The 800 cars with no cockpits just killed it for me. So I can see where these guys are coming from.

T.O. What about the Honda's and the Type R's that come with the championship white wheels? I'm a huge Honda fan and coming with grey wheels is a killer for me. The things you mentioned about the 800 cars with no cockpit does stink but I have just as fun with those 800 cars as the 200 premiums though. Do you think that all the cars in forza4 will have working dials? 3 didnt but I still played the hell out of interior view. I'm sure those other issue will be address in the future. I just don't understand why we cant get white wheels in Forza4, It does not make me not want to play though I still will play with my Hondas just with championship grey wheels.

The white/grey wheels issue doesn't bother me, I like em black :sly:

But seriously, loving the car list so far. Are you even paying any attention PD? Turn 10, TAKE MY MONEY! :dopey:

And see this is where it's different strokes for different folks. I would have taken generic cockpits in GT5. Anything, just give me that view. The non-working panels in some FM3 cars was a bummer but the fact that I still had the view was just enough to keep me happy. But if Turn10 said "Well since some of the instrument panels aren't working we're going to just take them out altogether" I would have went nuts. I already explained my views of the white wheels, just makes cars look cheap to me regardless if they're supposed to be there or not, but I'm not upset if it really ticks the next man off to the point they can't enjoy the game.

Hell I went a whole season in our ALMS with no working cockpit but the view is what mattered the most to me and was a requirement for the series.

But then I've also raced whole seasons with the works on

If you compare these to the Forza wheels are not that bad.

I don't know if the wheels can look this white though in FM4 just have to wait and see.

They will if you crank up the brightness in game than do some additional editing afterwards like that F40 pic is.

You don't have to edit to get your wheels that white on GT.

Also, the EK9 Type R also came with silver/gray wheels.

Anyone else get the feeling we're going to get all the cars from FM3 as well?

I don't see why Turn 10 can't give us white wheels. What is holding them back?

They just need to re-work the whole wheel thing completely. In all three of the games and even in the new FM4 screens, it's the wheels that kill the models and make them look cartoonish. Fixing the wheels models would really improve it.

Well, I think FM did a great job with the wheels, as far as reproducing the real life comparables. I think they have just done a piss poor job on the coloring of them for some reason (unless you paint the paint supported wheels in the livery....and even then, choosing white looks gray).

Not to mention, one of the most if not the most extensive catalog of wheels in a racer on console.

I can pretty much guarantee we wont get every car from FM3 back in FM4. They added around 15+ manufacturers but the total car count is almost the same. It is possible though.
